Remote Freelance Medical Writer - Veeva, Medical Copywriting United States Freelance Remote $45 - $50 /hr Our pharmaceutical agency client is looking for a Medical Copywriter to join their team for short-term editing projects on an ongoing basis. ***This is a W2 role no C2C Responsibilities: - Upload content to Veeva, reference and anchor jobs - Once a pdf is complete, team will share content with the selected candidate - Click, anchor and identify where the proper information is. - Search for references in Veeva and upload - Create references where one does not exist in Veeva - Return to the job and anchor the content and link it Must haves: - 3+ years of experience uploading content to Veeva - 3+ years of Medical writing/editing - Experience with formatting, anchoring and referencing. - Ability to work very part time hours on a small project basis from time to time In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. Role Description Under indirect supervision, the Coding Compliance Audit Specialist conducts baseline, routine, and focused audits by comparing medical record documentation with reported CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes. Successful candidates will have extensive coding audit experience, strong knowledge of CMS and Medicare guidelines, and the ability to interpret and communicate federal and state regulations while serving as an internal expert on coding compliance. CPC and CPMA certifications are required. - Conduct audits (i.e. baseline, routine periodic, and focused) comparing medical record documentation to reported CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes with consideration of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines. - Research, interpret and communicate federal and state laws and guidelines pertaining to CMS and Medicare. - Acts as an internal expert on coding issues to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - 5+ years of audit experience is preferred. - Extensive knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes and guidelines. - Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required and Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA). - Experience working with MDAudit and Athena is a plus. - Must comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. Role Description Reviews and analyzes health records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures for distinct patient encounters. Works collaboratively with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and coding staff to ensure that clinical information in the medical record is present and accurate so that the appropriate utilization, clinical severity, outcomes, and quality is captured for the level of service rendered to all patients, as well as ensuring compliant reimbursement of patient care services. Remains aware of the continual changes in Federal and State regulations for prospective payment, keeps informed of changes in treatment modes and new procedures, and performs coding when physician documentation is vague or missing. Qualifications - At least one of the following: Physician, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, and/or a Professional Coder.
