Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will own the architecture and technical direction of Dedalus’s data platform end-to-end starting with key assets: - De-identified European clinical data repository - The data plane tied to the company-wide agentic AI strategy i.e. semantic data layer, event trace and audit architecture. A primary early objective is to design these as three interconnected programmes with independent timelines based on what is already in place, removing mutual blocking and accelerating overall AI readiness. The vision is for the Enterprise Data platform to be comprised of much more than this, including additional internal knowledge and capabilities. This is a senior individual contributor and leadership role. The person in this role will: - Work hands on with engineering teams across products to refine and validate architectural decisions and deliver against them. - Define and implement technology choices across the data stack: processing engines, analytical platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent), vector stores, streaming infrastructure, and governance tooling. - Define the semantic layer that enables AI agents to query clinical data with consistent, domain-appropriate vocabulary across ORBIS’s fragmented product estate. - Define the medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) and be responsible for the data pipelines for phenotypic and, eventually, genotypic data to support precision medicine use cases from 2028 onwards. - Design and own a data fabric with lakehouse architecture providing: read-by-reference access across application systems without requiring full data transformation; a medallion model for progressive data refinement. Role Description The Oncology Data Specialist-Certified is responsible for complete and accurate abstracting of cancer data in accordance with the American College of Surgeons requirements and the Florida Cancer Data system. The incumbent identifies applicable cases for inclusion in the registry (case-finding), abstract and lifetime follow-up of cancer cases diagnosed and/or treated at Tampa General Hospital. This position also assists with various department activities including but not limited to: - Tumor conferences - Cancer Committee meetings - CoC preparation for accreditation and survey - RCRS submissions - FCDS reporting Qualifications - Associate's Degree in Arts or Science - Oncology Data Specialist-Certified: If currently enrolled in an approved program, you must obtain certification within the first year of employment Requirements - Minimum of one year cancer registry abstracting experience in a Commission on Cancer (CoC) approved Cancer Registry - Experience with Cancer Registry Software (CNEXT/Oncology)
