Job Description

Data Specialist

Syllo

Role Description Own the data layer that makes complex litigation possible. This role is responsible for the technical data operations that underpin every case on Syllo's platform, from collection and processing through production and quality control. You will work directly with Client Services pods and internally with Product and Engineering to ensure data integrity at every stage. We are looking for someone with hands-on EDRM lifecycle experience, deep platform fluency, and the judgment to know when a data issue is a technical quirk versus a signal something is wrong. What you will do - Own data operations: Manage ingestion, processing, and production workflows across active cases. Validate every output before it reaches the client. - Own quality control: Apply systematic QC standards across all data outputs, documenting findings and resolving issues before they reach the client or the pod. - Resolve complex data issues: Diagnose and resolve collection anomalies, processing failures, metadata errors, and production format disputes. - Advise on data strategy: Help clients structure their data workflows, processing specs, and review protocols for efficiency and defensibility. - Serve as the pod liaison: Receive data handoffs from Client Services pods, document chain of custody, and ensure all requirements are captured before work begins. Manage intake through a dedicated queue and communicate proactively about capacity and timelines. - Partner with Engineering and Product: Surface recurring data-layer issues, document edge cases, and contribute to platform improvement through product testing and timely feedback. - Build documentation: Create and maintain processing guides, QC checklists, and workflow standards that hold up as the client base grows. Qualifications - EDRM depth: You have owned the full lifecycle, from collection through production, on complex commercial cases with high data volumes. - Quality discipline: Your QC process is systematic, documented, and does not depend on memory. - Platform fluency: Hands-on experience with Relativity, Everlaw, Nuix, or comparable platforms. You can troubleshoot, not just operate. - Metadata and data structure knowledge: You understand file formats, processing parameters, load file specs, and why metadata integrity matters. - Cross-functional communication: You can explain a data issue to an attorney and a technical root cause to an engineer. Requirements - 3+ years in eDiscovery, litigation support, or a data-focused legal role. - Hands-on EDRM lifecycle experience from collection through production on complex commercial cases. - Proficiency with at least one major eDiscovery platform; Relativity RCA or equivalent preferred. - Comfort working with metadata, large datasets, and technically complex data requests. - Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira or Linear is a plus. - Experience collaborating with engineering or product teams is a plus. - High aptitude for learning new software tools and enthusiasm for AI-powered products. Benefits - Compensation: Competitive base salary + equity options. - Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and voluntary insurance options. Vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays. Access to benefit counselors and fitness class reimbursements. - Growth: Annual learning and development budget and real career growth in a fast-scaling organization. Equal opportunity employer We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We provide a fair and accessible hiring process. If you require accommodations during the application or interview stage, please let us know. United States - Remote Pay Range $120,000 — $140,000 USD

Full TimeRemoteTeam 5,001-10,000H1B No Sponsor

Role Description Join us as our Chief Data Architect at Dedalus, one of the World’s leading healthcare technology companies, based remotely anywhere in Europe, to do the best work of your career and make a profound impact in providing better care for a healthier planet. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will own the architecture and technical direction of Dedalus’s data platform end-to-end starting with key assets: - De-identified European clinical data repository - The data plane tied to the company-wide agentic AI strategy i.e. semantic data layer, event trace and audit architecture. A primary early objective is to design these as three interconnected programmes with independent timelines based on what is already in place, removing mutual blocking and accelerating overall AI readiness. The vision is for the Enterprise Data platform to be comprised of much more than this, including additional internal knowledge and capabilities. This is a senior individual contributor and leadership role. The person in this role will: - Work hands on with engineering teams across products to refine and validate architectural decisions and deliver against them. - Define and implement technology choices across the data stack: processing engines, analytical platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent), vector stores, streaming infrastructure, and governance tooling. - Define the semantic layer that enables AI agents to query clinical data with consistent, domain-appropriate vocabulary across ORBIS’s fragmented product estate. - Define the medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) and be responsible for the data pipelines for phenotypic and, eventually, genotypic data to support precision medicine use cases from 2028 onwards. - Design and own a data fabric with lakehouse architecture providing: read-by-reference access across application systems without requiring full data transformation; a medallion model for progressive data refinement. Qualifications - Substantial experience building data platforms in regulated healthcare or life sciences. - Demonstrated experience architecting platforms that integrate heterogeneous diagnostic data domains. - Lived experience with GDPR/DSGVO as an architectural constraint. - Familiarity with the MDR/SaMD regulatory landscape. - Production hands-on experience with modern data stack components: Databricks and/or Snowflake, streaming infrastructure (Kafka or equivalent), dbt or similar transformation tooling. - Experience designing medallion architectures (bronze/silver/gold) and read-by-reference data access patterns. - Strong opinions on when Databricks vs Snowflake vs Spark vs something else is the right choice, and why. - Understanding of data infrastructure for AI systems. - Experience designing platforms intended to be consumed by third parties. - Credibility with engineers — not as a manager, but as someone who has done the work. Requirements - Experience designing platforms intended to be consumed by third parties: schema versioning, backward compatibility, deprecation policy. - Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR R4/R5, DC4H, HL7 v2/v3). - Experience setting technical direction across multiple product lines and geographies. Desirable Requirements - Direct experience with genomic or multi-omics data management, governance, and storage architecture. - Experience architecting or contributing to a federated learning or privacy-preserving ML infrastructure in a healthcare context. - Experience working within or alongside a clinical trial matching or real-world evidence platform. - Previous experience in a PE-backed or pre-IPO technology company navigating capital markets scrutiny of data strategy. - Familiarity with EU AI Act Annex IV technical documentation requirements for high-risk AI systems. Benefits - Engaging, rewarding work experience. - Encouragement to learn and innovate. - Culture of diversity and inclusion.
