As a Guidance Navigation and Controls Analysis Engineer you will help lead development of Ursa Major vehicle GNC capabilities. This role will assess dynamic environments, determine appropriate sensor suite and configurations for varying vehicle designs, establish guidance designs. This role will develop GNC system designs into robust, flight-ready software, working across simulation, test, embedded implementation, and hardware-in-the-loop environments. This role is responsible for the 0 to 1 development of major portions of a flight control system, in tight, cross functional coordination with vehicle design, structures and avionics. This role will develop algorithms and associated simulations, ensure compatibility with system design constraints, and validate performance leveraging a mix of Linear Systems Analysis, State Space Methods, Monte Carlo Analysis and deep coordination with Hardware in the Loop analysis of the full system. This position is available to work remote from within the United States or on-site/hybrid in Berthoud, Colorado. Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain flight GNC systems for aerospace applications - Translate GNC requirements into models and into efficient, reliable embedded software - Develop and execute simulations to evaluate guidance, navigation, and control performance - Coordinate with design to ensure that vehicle design parameters align with control system requirements. - Support system integration, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and flight test activities - Analyze test and flight data to assess performance and drive improvements - Contribute to requirements definition, verification, and traceability for GNC functions - Identify and mitigate technical risks through analysis, testing, and peer review - Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical design, avionics, software, and test engineers - Document designs, analyses, and test results for internal and external stakeholders Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field - Professional experience developing GNC models and algorithms for aerospace or defense systems - Strong understanding of classical control, estimation, and vehicle dynamics - Experience implementing algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, or Python or equivalent - Ability to work effectively across disciplines and communicate technical concepts clearly - Ability to work effectively in teams or individually Desirable Experience: - Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline - Experience with navigation sensors (IMUs, GPS, star trackers, etc.) and state estimation techniques (e.g., Kalman filtering) - Exposure to hardware-in-the-loop testing, flight testing, or operational flight systems - Familiarity with safety-critical or regulated development environments (e.g., DO-178 or equivalent processes) - Prior experience supporting aerospace or defense programs through integration and test phases - Professional experience developing flight software for aerospace or defense systems - Experience developing simulations to evaluate guidance, navigation, and control performance - Experience leading development of GN&C standards Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $135,000 - $170,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. • Install electron microscopes at customer locations in EMEA by; Supporting the preparation steps of your upcoming assignment • Execute the installation and setup of our sold equipment from move-in to customer acceptance • Work with 3rd party contractors to ensure a smooth installation progress • Give our customers the best possible install experience on their newly installed equipment with clear communication and good technical skills • Collaborate with customers to determine their specific needs and requirements • Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with Thermofisher Scientific colleagues and customers assuring the highest level of customer experience • Offer & seek technical assistance and guidance throughout the installation and operation process with colleagues and supporting departments • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and resolving any issues • Timely and accurate recording of your activities • Document the work done and works according to standard operating procedures

• Conduct on-site installation of sophisticated electron microscopy and related analytical systems • Follow established installation, alignment, calibration, and testing procedures to confirm equipment is functioning properly • Partner with customers, system users, and internal teams to ensure a smooth installation experience • Diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise during installation or early system use • Support scheduled maintenance activities when needed to ensure ongoing system performance • Provide troubleshooting and repair support for customers and other field personnel • Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to support installations, resolve issues, or assist other field service colleagues • Complete and submit accurate field service and installation reports • Train customers and users on basic system operation, maintenance expectations, and best practices • Provide feedback to product quality, service, and engineering teams based on field observations • Support updates, corrections, and improvements to Thermo Fisher system documentation • Identify, isolate, and communicate outstanding system issues clearly and professionally • Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert for colleagues, customers, and training activities • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance expectations while working with high-voltage, ultra-high vacuum, and complex electromechanical systems

• Provide technological input in the development, validation, and transfer of manufacturing processes. • Support the Process Engineering team as technical owners of customer programs in a manufacturing environment. • Collaborate internally with supervisors and technicians in the Operations department, Quality Assurance, fellow Engineers, and scientists in Process Development and with the client as a Process Engineer program lead. • Draft, review and approve Standard Operation Procedures, and Job Aids and consult internally to ensure scientifically sound and robust procedures. • Collaborate with the process development to develop standardized methodologies and learn/explore new methodologies for conducting unit operations at the manufacturing scale including cell culture, harvest, and purification. • Contribute to Internal and Customer meetings based upon sound evidence guided by minimal supervision. • Manage internal projects and tasks and lead client projects and manage timelines with minimal support from supervision. • Actively identify error proofing opportunities and initiate and drive engineering initiatives to improve practices and procedures with minimal supervision. • Provide scientific expertise for GMP deviations by assessing, reviewing and approving the impact of major deviations on both the product quality and the validation of the process. • Lead changes to equipment and process design, proactively and with minimal supervision. • Draft, review and approve Manufacturing Batch Records, Performance Qualifications, Process Validation protocols, process flow diagrams, automation methods, and Bill of Materials, ensuring the process is technically accurate and designed for Manufacturing. • Draft, review, and approve Process control documents, campaign summary report and process validation reports. • Review, analyze and trend process data without supervision. • Provide technical feedback on documents created by other departments, such as Tech Transfer Protocols and SOPs. • Troubleshoot technical challenges on the manufacturing floor as needed for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. • Support our MSAT team with additional tasks to improve the site, ensure patient safety, and deliver for our customers. • Provide development and training for Process Engineers/Scientists.
