Role Description The Site Services Lead Hand Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment and the day-to-day coordination of site services crews supporting construction, maintenance, logistics, and camp infrastructure activities at the Coffee Project. This position provides frontline leadership, promotes a strong safety culture, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. Role Accountabilities - Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, graders, bulldozers, backhoes, skid steers, or other machinery. - Lead and coordinate daily activities of equipment operators and laborers. - Assign tasks and monitor work progress to ensure schedules are met. - Ensure safe work practices are followed by all crew members. - Conduct pre-operational inspections and basic maintenance of equipment. - Identify equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed. - Assist supervisors with planning work activities and resource allocation. - Train, mentor, and support new operators and crew members. - Complete required documentation, reports, and equipment logs. - Monitor job site conditions and communicate hazards or concerns. - Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements. - Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks. - Support incident investigations and corrective actions. - Report environmental concerns, incidents, spills, or non-compliance issues immediately. Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent. - Valid driver's license (often Class 5, Class 3, Class 1, CDL, or equivalent, depending on jurisdiction). - Heavy equipment operator certification or demonstrated experience. - Experience operating excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, skid steers, telehandlers, water trucks, Man Lift, Kubota, 935 Loader, Rock Trucks, and other mobile equipment commonly used in mining and construction environments. - Previous leadership, lead hand, or supervisory experience preferred. - Strong knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures. - Ability to read site plans, drawings, and work orders. - Effective communication and team leadership skills. Requirements - Minimum 3 years operating heavy equipment. - Minimum 2-5 years in a Lead Hand, Crew Lead, or supervisory experience required. - Experience in mining, heavy civil construction, or remote projects. - Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship. - Ensure compliance with site safety standards. - Conduct workplace inspections. - Participate in safety leadership initiatives. Physical Requirements - Ability to safely operate heavy and light mobile equipment for extended periods. - Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, bend, and reach throughout the workday. - Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis. - Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments and varying terrain. - Ability to work safely in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, ice, dust, and reduced visibility. - Ability to meet site medical and fitness-for-duty requirements. • Own and improve the reliability, availability and performance of critical production services across the Runware platform • Define and evolve our reliability practices, including SLIs, SLOs, alerting, observability and production-readiness standards • Investigate complex production issues across distributed systems, APIs, networking, queues, databases and GPU-backed workloads, participating in our engineering on-call rotation • Lead and contribute to incident reviews and RCAs, turning recurring failure modes into lasting engineering improvements • Reduce operational toil through automation, automated remediation and improvements to deployment safety, recovery and system resilience • Work closely with Engineering and DevOps teams on capacity planning, performance, scaling and architectural improvements as the platform grows
