Job Description
Security Officer
NMS
• Monitor and patrol assigned buildings, areas, or grounds • Permit only authorized individuals to enter property • Patrol premises and examine security systems • Record property damage or unusual occurrences • Warn violators and notify individuals of visitors • Assist in emergency response • Operate camp billeting and access control systems • Provide transportation services and emergency medical intervention • Notify supervisor if safety standards are not being met
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required
- 3+ years of full-time professional security, law enforcement or military experience
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record for past 3 years
- Must obtain and pay Alaska Guard License fee of $97.00 prior to employment
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Pass pre-employment contract requirements which may include drug test and physical assessments
- Ability to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements
- Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team
- Must be able to make decisions with little to no supervision
- Must be able to stand for 12 hours per shift
- Required to speak, understand, read and write English
