Role Description As a Rohingya-English Video-Phone Interpreter, you will handle calls on demand and render the meaning of conversations between Rohingya and English speakers. You will break the communication barrier in various industries, including: - Healthcare - Government - Insurance - Financial - Utilities - Travel & Hospitality - General Business - Law Enforcement - Court - 911 Essential Job Functions include: - Responding to interpreting sessions promptly and conducting interpretation in a friendly and professional manner. - Participating in online, video, and audio training sessions. - Delivering audio and video interpretation services and typing data on a dedicated device. - Rendering correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol. - Speaking clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and polite expressions. - Maintaining a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions. - Remaining calm during interpreting sessions, especially in emergency situations. - Maintaining punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours. - Following client instructions to ensure expectations are met. - Understanding protocol and terminology for various industries. - Demonstrating commitment to cultural sensitivity and diversity. Qualifications - Fluency in Rohingya and English, with cultural competency. - Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills. - Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations. - Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred. - Must be at least 18 years of age. - Legally authorized to work in the United States. - High school diploma or equivalent.
