Lead Network Engineer, L3

Dijital Team

• Lead the technical delivery of enterprise networking and security projects from design through implementation • Develop Low Level Designs (LLDs), implementation plans, deployment documentation, and technical standards • Take ownership of engineering outcomes throughout the project lifecycle • Drive engineering best practices across projects and managed services • Support presales teams with technical solution validation and customer discovery workshops • Review solution architectures for technical accuracy and delivery suitability • Provide implementation effort estimates and technical risk assessments • Support seamless transitions from presales through to project delivery • Act as the primary technical contact throughout project delivery • Present technical solutions in clear business language to a variety of stakeholders • Build trusted customer relationships through effective consultation and communication • Participate in planning sessions, workshops, and solution reviews • Lead the implementation of enterprise networking and security solutions • Collaborate with project managers, presales consultants, and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery • Ensure projects are delivered within scope, quality expectations, and agreed timelines • Support project handovers into managed services environments • Provide the highest level of technical escalation across managed customer environments • Troubleshoot complex networking and security incidents • Perform root cause analysis and support cyber security incident response activities • Lead enterprise firewall migration projects and mentor junior engineers during escalations • Identify opportunities to enhance customer environments and internal engineering processes • Contribute to automation initiatives, deployment templates, and AI-assisted engineering workflows • Improve engineering documentation, operational standards, and technical knowledge resources • Promote engineering excellence and standardisation across the business • Work closely with engineering, service desk, presales, and project teams • Mentor junior engineers through technical leadership and knowledge sharing • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to ongoing capability development

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior engineering role within an MSP environment
  • Proven experience leading enterprise infrastructure projects from solution design through implementation
  • Strong customer-facing consulting experience with the ability to independently lead technical discussions
  • Experience producing Low Level Design (LLD) documentation and technical implementation plans
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise networking and security environments
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working autonomously
  • Strong experience with FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer
  • Expertise in enterprise firewall implementation, secure networking, and SASE architecture
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise routing and switching, SD-WAN, MPLS, BGP, Layer 2 & Layer 3 networking
  • Experience with FortiSwitch, FortiAP, enterprise WAN, and multi-site network design
  • Experience supporting network segmentation and security best practices
  • Fortinet NSC Level 7 (Secure Networking and/or SASE) certification is essential
  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise or Cisco CCNP Security certifications are highly regarded
  • Experience with enterprise SD-WAN and SASE implementations
  • Exposure to cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure
  • Experience with customer discovery workshops, solution validation, and technical presales
  • Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks, Netskope, Cisco Meraki, AWS Networking, and Autotask PSA is advantageous
  • Experience with automation, AI-assisted engineering tools, and infrastructure improvements is highly regarded
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong customer relationship management and consulting skills
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative

Qualifications - At least 8+ years of experience in routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless covering datacenter and cloud. - Leadership experience and/or potential. This position may grow into a Lead or Management position. - Technical Certifications such as CCNP, NSE4-6, PCNSE, AZ-700, etc. are highly desirable. - Expertise with network systems, standards (LAN, WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN) and routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF. - In-depth knowledge of network security including NGFW, IPS, IPsec VPN, and SSLVPN. - Cloud Networking Experience (AWS, Azure, Google). - Experience planning, designing, and deploying network architectures using templates at scale using Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Cisco technologies. - Proven ability in network capacity and performance planning and monitoring. - Possess a thorough understanding of 802.11 wireless principles. - Strong ability with end-user device connectivity. - In-depth knowledge of QoS and traffic shaping. - Knowledge of 802.1X and SAML/SSO implementation strategies. - Proven ability to analyze and solve tier 3 network incidents. - Experience in executing medium to large-scale projects. - Excellent communication and client service skills, both written and oral, including a proven ability to create detailed technical documentation. - Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems. - Willing to travel locally and nationally as needed (approximately 25%). - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
