Role Description The Physician position provides supervision to extenders and consultation to internal and external providers, supporting the administrative process. Physicians will provide direct client care consistent with their training, certification, and local, state, and federal guidelines, including DBHDD and Advantage policies and procedures. Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards - Provides medical and/or addiction medicine services/supervision/consultation to staff at ADVANTAGE. - Provides medical consultation for other physicians and nurse practitioners concerning consumer management and treatment recommendations. - Provides consultation to psychiatrists and outpatient treatment facilities regarding community resources and triage of medications to patients as needed. - Provides medical treatment and medicine services/supervision to other programs as needed. - Provides feedback to the medical staff through the agency’s performance evaluation system for medical staff members. - Creates and maintains a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation. - Defines goals and/or required results at the beginning of the performance period and gains acceptance of ideas by creating a shared vision. - Communicates regularly with staff on progress toward defined goals and/or required results, providing specific feedback and initiating corrective action when defined goals and/or results are met. - Confers regularly with staff to review employee relations climate, specific problem areas, and actions necessary for improvement. - Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals, obtains and considers all relevant information in evaluations, and supports staff by giving praise and constructive criticism. - Motivates staff to improve the quantity and quality of work performed and provides training and development opportunities as appropriate. Qualifications - Three (3) years of experience in Outpatient services setting with at least one (1) year of public mental health system context. Preferred Qualifications - Suboxone DEA - Experience in treating Adults and Children - Board certification
