Senior IT Software Developer in Test

Progressive Casualty Insurance Company

Role Description As a senior IT software developer in test within our Enterprise Resource Organization aligned to the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) pillar, you'll implement integration capabilities that fuel Progressive's growth and expand our M&A footprint. You'll work in an Agile/SCRUM environment on M&A projects, collaborating closely with developers, testers, and multiple platform teams. - Lead testing efforts and solve testability challenges. - Design technology solutions that support test automation. - Identify risks and potential defects in software components and systems. - Influence development decisions and review work. - Provide recommendations to address testability challenges. - Implement activities across the software development life cycle. - Apply various methods and techniques to deliver efficient solutions. - Recommend ways to use technology to improve testing and automation. This is a remote position for US-based work only. Qualifications - Minimum of 7 years related work experience designing, programming and supporting software programs and applications. - OR Completion of a technical training program and a minimum 4 years related work experience designing, programming and supporting software programs and applications. - OR Bachelor's degree or higher in an Information Technology related field of study and a minimum 4 years related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs and applications. Requirements - Full stack development experience with modern programming languages (e.g., C#, .NET, Angular v14 or higher, TypeScript, Python, Javascript). - Experience creating API and UI automated tests (e.g., Postman, SoapUI, Rest Assured), with understanding of .NET Framework, Angular, RestSharp, MSTest, CI/CD pipelines, Reqnroll (replaces SpecFlow) and Git/GitHub. - Proficiency in various testing methodologies including manual, regression, performance, stress and automated testing (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress). - Exposure to cloud testing environments and tools (e.g., AWS, SQS, SNS, Lambdas, S3). - Experience with VS Code and Visual Studio.
