Job Description

Construction Contract Lead

American Red Cross

• Oversee complex activities pertaining to contract development, selection and award, contract administration, and customer contact activities. • Manage relationships with third party suppliers, vendors, consultants, and contractors. • Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. • Develop, conduct, and evaluate RFP’s (requests for proposal) as requested by RES Construction Project Managers. • Draft, manage and complete construction and related contracts. • Red-line and negotiate terms within established guidelines to mitigate contractual risk. • Serve as the key contact person to coordinate matters between the legal department, construction and risk management teams. • Track deadlines, contract deliverables and receivables.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with expeditious multi-tasking.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to efficiently proofread/edit documents.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of bidding processes, contract terminology, liens, and invoicing.
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional client service.
  • Ability and willingness to learn, cross-train and work as a team player.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
