Data Analyst I

• Provide technical data extraction, management, integration, and advanced analytic support including analytic approaches to examine relationships between implementation processes and program outcomes. • Extract APR and performance measurement data; Develop structured analytic datasets; Standardize and harmonize variables across reporting cycles; Maintain documentation of extraction procedures. • Conduct systematic data cleaning and validation; Identify missing or inconsistent data; Implement reproducible validation scripts; Document data quality issues and corrective actions. • Compile DPRP encounter-level datasets; Conduct descriptive and longitudinal analyses; Analyze engagement and outcomes; Generate standardized outputs. • Compile ADA and ADCES datasets; Harmonize data elements; Conduct cross-site comparative analyses; Assess reach and outcomes. • Identify relevant national datasets (as directed); Acquire and integrate secondary datasets; Conduct comparative and contextual analyses; Document limitations and assumptions; Apply analytic methods to assess how implementation factors (e.g., reach, fidelity, adaptation) influence outcomes. • Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis, preferably in public health.
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate and provide expert advice and consultation.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.
  • Ability to perform complex analytical studies (qualitative and quantitative analysis) and interpretation of results to coordinate the evaluation of programs and recommend improvements.
  • Experience working with implementation-related measures (e.g., reach, fidelity, dose, adaptation) and linking implementation variables to outcomes.
  • Experience analyzing mixed-methods data (e.g., qualitative and quantitative integration).
  • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to make clear, convincing presentations, explain and justify recommendations, represent the agency, and assigned program or project areas, provide guidance, and advise program administrators and members of the community, respond to inquiries, and interact with high level officials and representatives from public and private public health organizations.
  • Knowledge of the rules, procedures and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, and SharePoint) efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to use and manage CDC Administrative Systems (HUMAN SUBJECTS, OMB AND IRB, and E-Clearance) efficiently and effectively.
  • Previous experience working with government procedures and guidelines.
  • Experience working at CDC or in a public health setting preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Role Description The Data Governance & Analytics Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining enterprise-wide data definitions, governance standards, and analytics enablement across the organization. This role ensures that data across enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), finance, manufacturing, and operational systems is accurate, consistent, trusted, and effectively used for decision-making. Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders, IT, and third-party implementation partners, this role drives data quality, key performance indicator (KPI) standardization, and adoption of reporting and analytics capabilities within a manufacturing organization operating across the United States and Canada. This is a remote position. - Define and maintain enterprise data governance standards, policies, and procedures. - Establish and manage the enterprise data dictionary and business glossary (single source of truth for key metrics and definitions). - Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to define and standardize KPIs and reporting metrics. - Ensure alignment of data definitions across ERP, CRM, and data warehouse environments. - Work with IT and third-party vendors to validate data models, data mappings, and transformation rules. - Monitor data quality, identify gaps, and drive remediation efforts across business systems. - Support the design and adoption of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions. - Facilitate data governance forums and cross-functional alignment sessions. - Ensure data governance practices are embedded into system implementations and enhancements. - Support data lineage documentation and traceability from source systems to reporting outputs. - Promote data adoption and usage across business teams to improve decision-making. - Partner with Data Architect and Integration teams to ensure consistency of data pipelines and structures. - Support compliance, audit, and data privacy requirements as they relate to enterprise data. - Drive continuous improvement in data accuracy, completeness, and usability across systems.
