Senior Backend Engineer
Insense | TikTok & Meta Partner
• Design, develop, and maintain our backend • Oversee the development and maintenance of our GraphQL API • Manage deployments in a Kubernetes environment on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) • Ensure the reliability and scalability of our applications • Work closely with designers, product managers, and QA to deliver high-quality features • Facilitate communication and collaboration within the team • Proactively ideate and implement product improvements based on business and user needs • Foster an inclusive work environment, effectively collaborating with team members from diverse cultural backgrounds
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience
- Strong written and verbal English (C1+)
- Proficiency in Ruby; experience with functional programming patterns is a strong plus
- Advanced SQL / PostgreSQL knowledge
- Experience with GraphQL API development
- Comfortable with DevOps concepts - deployments, Kubernetes, GCP
- Actively use AI tools (Claude, Cursor etc.) in daily development
- Product-minded, proactive, and able to work across cultures
- Experience with Roda, Sequel, or dry-rb is a strong plus
- Background in e-commerce, creator economy, or marketplace products is a strong plus

• Build, improve and optimize advanced services built with python that power data synchronisation, transformation across 300+ source APIs and 30+ destinations. • Develop new connectors and improve existing ones, handling auth flows, rate limiting, retries, pagination, and schema variations. • Improve scalability and reliability of production systems (performance, concurrency, monitoring, incident prevention). • Write well-tested code (pytest) and review merge requests from teammates. • Work in two-week sprints with room for shifting priorities, we stay pragmatic, not process-heavy.
