Role Description At Rancho BioSciences, we're expanding our network of exceptional Full Stack Developers to support upcoming client initiatives across the life sciences industry. As new opportunities arise, qualified candidates from our talent network will be considered for full-time, part-time, and project-based consulting engagements, providing the opportunity to contribute to impactful work with some of the world's leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations. - Design and implement high-quality, scalable technical solutions for client projects - Translate business and/or functional requirements into sound engineering designs - Own the delivery of technical components or workstreams with minimal supervision - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across systems and environments - Evaluate technical options and recommend effective solutions that balance performance, cost, and maintainability - Collaborate directly with clients to clarify requirements and validate assumptions - Communicate technical concepts clearly to working team - Contribute to client-facing deliverables, such as design documents, demos, and presentations - Work collaboratively with architects, project managers, and other members of the consulting team to deliver integrated solutions - Collaborate with client and Rancho teams to design and deliver components and solutions with high quality - Follow and help enforce engineering best practices, code quality standards, and security guidelines - Ensure deliverables meet both client expectations and internal quality benchmarks Qualifications - 5+ years' experience in a developer role with similar experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field; Masters degree preferred - Experience in Life Sciences (Biology, Clinical Sciences, Chemistry) is preferred - 4+ years of experience designing and implementing production-grade solutions in a modern technology stack (Python, SQL, dbt, React, Vue, TypeScript, AWS/Azure/GCP) - Strong proficiency in at least one core engineering domain (software/application, data, or cloud engineering) - Fluency in all aspects of pipeline development - Experience with agile development process - Expertise on back-end development with Python and/or Java - Expertise in Javascript framework such as Angular and/or REACT - Experience with relational and NoSQL Databases (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Couchbase, etc.) - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes - Experience with Version Control, build automation and CI/CD tools - Experience with system integration and APIs - Excellent communication skills both verbal and written - Demonstrated experience with teamwork and collaboration amongst multiple teams - Must understand sense of urgency and have prioritization skills - Experience in a fast-paced, growing organization - Must be flexible and willing to change with quick turnarounds Requirements - Familiarity with emerging technologies in R&D, including AI/ML in drug discovery, real world evidence (RWE), and digital clinical trials - Experience with data platform design (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift/Athena, BigQuery, etc.) - Experience with automation systems/software - Experience in the chemical synthesis space - Understanding and practical working experience of pharma data (omics, chemical structures, biologics, etc.)

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance C++ applications for UNIX-based environments • Write, optimize, and maintain UNIX Shell scripts (Bash, Korn Shell, or POSIX Shell) for automation, batch processing, system monitoring, and operational support • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application and system issues in UNIX environments • Develop reusable, efficient, and reliable code following coding standards and best practices • Implement secure coding practices to protect sensitive data at rest and in transit • Integrate and manage Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) such as Thales, SafeNet, or Utimaco for secure cryptographic operations • Configure and interface with HSMs using standard APIs such as PKCS#11, Microsoft CNG, or vendor-specific APIs • Implement cryptographic functions including encryption, decryption, digital signatures, certificate management, and secure key lifecycle management • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver secure, high-quality solutions • Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, debugging, and production support

• Design, implement, and maintain virtualized environments using platforms such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or KVM. • Manage server consolidation, clustering, and resource optimization to ensure performance and scalability. • Integrate virtualization platforms with storage, networking, and backup solutions. • Monitor system health, capacity, and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues. • Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives within virtual environments. • Implement and maintain security best practices for virtual machines, hypervisors, and management consoles. • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to streamline automation and improve deployment efficiency. • Provide technical support to customers and reseller partners on virtualization design and troubleshooting.
