Casualty Transportation Adjuster
MDD Forensic Accountants
• Primarily responsible for handling and investigating high exposure third party property damage and bodily injury claims on a multi-state basis. • Work efficiently and effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys and outside vendors to confirm coverage, determine liability and evaluate damages through timely and diligent claim investigations. • Candidates who hold multi-state licenses; at a minimum the candidate must hold a valid Texas license with the ability to quickly secure reciprocal licenses in other states. • Requires a high level of personal motivation and self-discipline and the ability to work independently with minimum amount of direct supervision. • Provide excellent customer service. • Analyze and apply coverage on both routine and complex claims. • Adjudicate claims in an expeditious and professional manner. • Set and maintain diaries. • Complete client reporting timely. • Control loss adjustment expenses, recommend and manage reserves. • Document all correspondence, reports, discussions, and decisions in the claims system. • Notify management of any situations which may affect the underlying claim.
Job Requirements
- Prefer minimum of 3 years commercial transportation experience
- Superior report writing skills
- Strong Time Management skills
- Effective Communicator
- Holds a valid Texas all lines license (Florida, New Mexico, and other licenses a plus)
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Have above average computer skills
- Team player
- Litigation Experience is required
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

• Perform in a support role as defined by the sponsoring department management • Complete non-complex projects assigned • Network with apprentices and Sedgwick colleagues • Shadow experts who investigate and assemble facts from an insurance perspective • Learn from business line leaders/experts to gain understanding of the insurance and engineering processes • Train on insurance coverages and principles • Assist with projects, observe meetings and inspections • Develop and present capstone project results to the Operating Committee at end of apprentice program • Support the organization's quality program(s)
