Data Scientist
MVP Group Inc
As a Data Scientist at MVP, you will be a part of the growing data science team developing solutions for problem solving client-related issues. You will also work on machine learning solutions for all platforms across the organization utilizing Python, R, Excel and other programs as needed. Work with research and development to create forward-facing solutions to help drive client success Collaborate directly with the data science, insights, and engineering teams to develop and execute products, services, and solutions Conduct detailed statistical analyses and find better ways to clean and structure data Engage in extensive research, development, and testing while carefully crafting methodologies Be self-motivated, driven to succeed, and curious about data Partner with a mentor or team of mentors to transition into the company This position is remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in the Greater Austin Area to support occasional in-person collaboration.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field
- 2+ years of work experience in an analytical field
- Extensive data analytics project experience using Python, SQL, or R
- Strong experience with Excel; experience in BI tools is a great addition
- Experience in machine learning and data mining projects
- Experience in Databricks is a plus
- Located in the Greater Austin Area is preferred
- Utilize Python and R tools to develop ways to problem solve and streamline processes for data science
- Research and develop automated solutions for testing and further development
- Work with senior-level data scientists and engineers to assist in the creation of enterprise solutions
- Work with Insights and Client Services teams to streamline processes related to omni-channel valuation and other software and services
- Develop and implement data methodologies, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Build models, test data set validations, and clean data sets to ensure the most accurate reporting
- Ability to work in an autonomous, self-directed environment with a sense of urgency in solving client issues
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, team, and process-building environment
- Personal interest in sports, entertainment, social media, esports, data, AI, and other relevant aspects of the tech business
