Charge / Code Capture Specialist – Health Information Management

Blue Ridge Radiologists

• Reviewing clinical documentation as appropriate to extract data and accurately assign proper facility level CPT based on set algorithm and coding metrics • Under the supervision of the HIM Coding Manager, perform duties assigned that include excellent communication, accurate leveling and data entry • Accurately assign appropriate facility levels and procedure codes for all ED/OBS service within accordance of the CPT and CMS guidelines • Communicate effectively with providers/office manager/auditors/billing department to ensure the highest level of service is being captured • Review providers dictation as needed to ensure all documentation is accurate

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • CPC Certification
  • Two or more years of E/M leveling experience and at least one year of procedural coding experience
  • Prior experience in a hospital, healthcare system, or related service-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with Augusta Health’s systems, workflows, or organizational culture is a plus
  • Requires good written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates competency in the use of computer applications and coding software
