What You Will Need: Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in transmission planning, modeling, or interconnection studies. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required. Experience with Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) processes and agreements. Preferred background includes transmission planning and interconnection project experience. Demonstrate proficiency in applying NERC reliability standards and IEEE technical guidelines to transmission studies and interconnection evaluations. Knowledge and Skills In-depth knowledge of power system analysis, transmission planning, and grid interconnection processes. Expertise in PSCAD software to lead EMT model development, benchmarking, analysis, and interconnection support with a strong proficiency in automation and scripting. Knowledge of transmission protection concepts and industry-standard relaying practices (e.g., NERC PRC standards) as they relate to steady-state and dynamic system analysis. Experience with other industry tools is a plus, including PSS®E, ASPEN, AutoCAD, PSLF, TARA, and TSAT. Experience with renewable energy projects (wind, solar, storage) and their integration into the electric grid. Possess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner. Use effective communication skills (both written and oral), be customer-driven, and display teamwork behavior. Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments. This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for four to ten years of relevant experience.
