PCB Designer

The PCB Designer will be tasked with creating and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) while producing various technical drawings through CAD software. These include schematics, assembly layouts, and fabrication plans. Utilize CAD software to generate PCB layouts and designs. Design configurations for both standard and complex high-speed, multi-layer circuit boards. Accurately dimension and draft standard components. Implement Engineering changes and updates to existing drawings. Create and maintain detailed CAD models and fabrication documents that meet internal standards. Troubleshoot moderately complex design challenges by offering guidance and support to Engineering, Suppliers, and Manufacturing teams.
Job Requirements
- Associate degree in Engineering CAD Technology or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in PCB design.
- Knowledge of IPC-4101, IPC-6012, and other industry-related standards.
- Hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro for PCB design.
- Experience with multi-layer PCB design.

What We Are Looking For: We are seeking an experienced Transmission Planning and Interconnection Engineer with expertise in PSCAD software to lead transmission modeling, analysis, and interconnection projects. This role requires full ownership of studies, model development, and project management, providing technical guidance and collaboration with team members. Develop, validate, and maintain transmission system models for steady-state and dynamic studies. What You Will Need: Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in transmission planning, modeling, or interconnection studies. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required. Experience with Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) processes and agreements. Preferred background includes transmission planning and interconnection project experience. Demonstrate proficiency in applying NERC reliability standards and IEEE technical guidelines to transmission studies and interconnection evaluations. Knowledge and Skills In-depth knowledge of power system analysis, transmission planning, and grid interconnection processes. Expertise in PSCAD software to lead EMT model development, benchmarking, analysis, and interconnection support with a strong proficiency in automation and scripting. Knowledge of transmission protection concepts and industry-standard relaying practices (e.g., NERC PRC standards) as they relate to steady-state and dynamic system analysis. Experience with other industry tools is a plus, including PSS®E, ASPEN, AutoCAD, PSLF, TARA, and TSAT. Experience with renewable energy projects (wind, solar, storage) and their integration into the electric grid. Possess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner.
