Role Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Officer to support our finance team in a hands-on accounting role. You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and ensuring timely processing of invoices, reconciliations, payroll, and compliance tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative remote environment and enjoys working across multiple finance functions. Key Responsibilities - Manage invoicing, credit notes, bank reconciliations, and payments - Follow up on overdue customer invoice payments - Monitor and manage finance-related email accounts - Respond to customer requests for copy invoices and account statements - Process and manage inter-company transactions - Maintain exchange rate records - Prepare and lodge monthly and quarterly BAS and NZ BAS - Process fortnightly payroll, including superannuation lodgements, STP reporting, and end-of-year finalisation - Ensure accurate data entry and account reconciliations Qualifications - Proven hands-on experience using Xero and MYOB in an accounting role - Strong understanding of accounting processes, including invoicing, credit notes, bank reconciliations, and payments - Intermediate accounting knowledge with the ability to work independently - Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy - Strong written and verbal English communication skills - Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers Requirements - Experience supporting a business during a system change or ERP migration Reporting & Collaboration - Report directly to the IT & Finance Systems Manager - Work remotely while collaborating closely with finance and sales teams - Support finance operations through regular communication and teamwork
