Role Description As an Software Engineer in Test at PDQ, you will work closely with an agile cross-functional delivery team to develop and maintain test automation for PDQ's products. You'll independently build and maintain automated tests and test frameworks for defined components and features, collaborating directly with Software Engineers on defects and test coverage. This role sits within our Engineering function and contributes to PDQ's mission of making device management simple, secure, and Pretty Damn Quick, by ensuring our products ship with quality and confidence. You'll have the opportunity to work on greenfield projects, contribute to our Connect product and on-prem applications, and grow your technical skills through mentorship from senior SDETs and Software Engineers. Why this role matters Quality is a core part of how PDQ earns and keeps the trust of IT teams around the world. As an Software Engineer in Test, you're not just catching bugs, you're building the systems and frameworks that let our engineering teams ship with confidence at speed. How you might spend your day: - Work with the fun stuff: We use Elixir, Rust, JS, PowerShell + TS. - Design, develop, and execute test automation (E2E, unit, integration, performance) and infrastructure (test provider, CI integration, local development scripts). - Build and maintain automation for your components; contribute improvements to the test framework and CI/CD pipelines. - Research, document, estimate, and report on identified bugs; consult with Software Engineers to help write better tests and more maintainable code. - Collaborate with Product teams to refine feature requirements and partner with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, and Design. - Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities throughout the entire software development life cycle. - Create and maintain testing documentation, support newer team members as they onboard, and contribute to PDQ's Open Code Policy by fixing defects across the codebase. Qualifications - 3+ years of experience with relevant programming languages; strong preference for languages in our stack (Elixir, Rust, JavaScript, TypeScript, PowerShell), but open to other languages such as Python, Go, or Java. - 2+ years of experience with web testing tools, including E2E frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, WebDriver IO, etc.) and unit/component testing tools (Jest, React Testing Library, etc.). - Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and understanding how testing integrates into the development workflow. - Knowledge of modern web infrastructure, design patterns, and the modern testing paradigm, including the types of automated tests, their strengths and weaknesses, and when to apply each during the SDLC. - Ability to own work with some ambiguity, take steps to get clarity, and communicate effectively with stakeholders including Product, Developers, Designers, and end users. Nice to Have: - Experience with greenfield projects, go-to-market launches, or SaaS platforms. - Experience with advanced testing practices including load and performance testing, visual validation, security testing, accessibility testing, and resilience or chaos testing. - Familiarity with on-premises device management or IT infrastructure products. - Experience mentoring junior engineers or contributing to team testing standards and documentation. Who you are: - Sharp eye for defects and a passion for solving problems, you approach quality with curiosity and rigor. - Comfortable with ambiguity, you take steps to get clarity rather than staying stuck, and you thrive in evolving environments. - Attention to detail and a genuine commitment to product quality, you advocate for the user experience in every decision. - Curiosity, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset, you actively seek opportunities to grow, learn, and innovate. - Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively across roles in cross-functional teams, empathizing with Product, Developers, Designers, and end users alike. Benefits - 4-Day Work Week - Equity Participation - 100% Premium Coverage for medical, dental and vision for you and your dependents - 100% Premium Coverage for Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life, and AD&D Insurance - Company Match of the first 6% of your employee deferrals - Flexible Paid Time Off Policy - Health Savings Account (HSA) and wellness incentives - Quarterly Company Values Award (team member nominated)

Role Description At CP Axtra, we believe quality is an engineering responsibility. Not something owned by a separate QA team. We are looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer to help build that culture. This role is much more than writing automated tests. You'll work alongside Product Owners and software engineers to ensure quality is considered from feature discovery through production. You'll help teams decide what should be tested, where it should be tested, and how it can be automated efficiently. You'll build tools, frameworks, and engineering practices that enable developers to confidently own quality while continuously improving our software delivery process. Remote candidates outside of Thailand are welcome to apply. Responsibilities - Drive Engineering Quality - Define testing strategies for new features and system capabilities. - Guide engineering teams to apply testing at the right level (unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, performance). - Identify quality risks during design and backlog refinement before implementation begins. - Establish engineering quality standards and continuously improve testing practices across the team. - Build Automation - Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks. - Develop automated tests across API, integration, contract, and UI layers. - Improve CI/CD quality gates to increase deployment confidence. - Continuously improve test reliability, execution speed, and developer feedback loops. - Partner with Product Owners - Collaborate with Product Owners to refine requirements and ensure stories are testable. - Help define clear acceptance criteria and identify edge cases early. - Ensure business workflows can be validated efficiently through automation. - Enable Engineers - Rather than becoming the team's testing bottleneck, you'll help engineers build better software. - Improve Engineering Practices - Recommend improvements to our development workflow, automation strategy, and release process. - Drive adoption of modern quality engineering practices. - Monitor quality metrics and identify opportunities to reduce production defects. - Continuously improve developer experience around testing and automation. - You will also need to: - Coach developers on effective testing practices. - Review designs and pull requests from a quality perspective. - Help teams decide what should—and shouldn't—be covered by automated tests. - Build reusable testing libraries, utilities, and developer tooling. - Promote Shift Left quality practices across the engineering organization. Qualifications - 7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, or Test Automation. - Strong software development experience in Java (preferred) or another modern programming language. - Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks rather than simply writing automated tests. - Experience working with distributed systems and microservice architectures. - Strong understanding of: Unit Testing, Integration Testing, API Testing, Contract Testing, End-to-End Testing, Performance Testing principles. - Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. - Experience working closely with Product Owners and software engineers in Agile teams. - Strong analytical and debugging skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Expertise in: Java / Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, Kafka or event-driven systems, Docker / Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar, Playwright, Selenium, REST Assured, Pact, JUnit, or similar tools, Datadog, Grafana, or other observability platforms. Nice to Have - Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) - Supply Chain or Logistics systems - Retail technology - Performance testing - Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) - Contract testing implementation - Experience coaching engineering teams What Success Looks Like - Within your first year, you'll: - Establish scalable quality engineering practices across our WMS tool. - Improve developer ownership of testing and quality. - Increase automation coverage at the most valuable test layers—not simply increase the number of tests. - Reduce production defects through better engineering practices. - Improve confidence in every deployment through automation and effective quality gates. - Help build a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility. Benefits - Health Insurance – We care about your health! Group insurance from a top insurance company is included in your benefits—OPD, IPD, Emergency OPD. - Provident Fund – We care about your long-term plan! We offer 3% provident fund. - Year-end bonus – We include variable and performance bonus for our employees. - Gym Facilities – Our Head office has a fitness center, yoga room, and recreational space. We set our own goals and deadlines. - Cool hardware – New MacBook. The tool to help you be the best of yourself. - Free car parking space – No more stress or extra cost if you drive to work. We offer free parking space for our employees.
