The SeniorPatient Service Specialist is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service, and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals. Acts as liaison between call center and site staff. Schedule: This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm. Location: If you are located within a commutable distance to an Atrius office that is nearest to you in MA or surrounding locations, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. Will be required to pick up equipment in person and will be required to work onsite at manager's discretion (for possible training, or if there are connectivity issues, etc.) Primary Responsibilities: - Verifies, re-verifies and authorizes patient insurance coverage and eligibility utilizing computer-based patient registration/scheduling system - Verifies demographic, insurance and other patient information - Expected to answer high volume of incoming calls - Addresses patient-care related telephone calls via an incoming work queue aligning with department metric - Identifies problem related priorities, and responds to emergency needs by contacting providers within guidelines - Provides patient education regarding managed care plans and referral process - Communicate with patients regarding all information related to scheduled appointments - Proactively identifies issues and works to resolve them in areas involving patient satisfaction, patient flow, and compliance with procedures and guidelines. Advocates for patients as appropriate. - Effectively deescalates issues with upset patients and practices. Uses advanced listening techniques to understand the issue and give patients options as they are available.
