Role Description Remote Encoding Technician position is responsible for operating the onsite transmission and telecom services for ESPN remote events. These services include: - High and low bandwidth fiber optic transport - Voice and data circuits - Encryption and compression technologies - Other telecom services and facilities as needed Their specialty will be to operate large scale, complex event transmission and provide onsite support for these events as assigned. Responsibilities - Manage transmission and telecom services for ESPN remote events of varying size and scope. - Plan and integrate necessary technical and operational aspects of the remote for all assigned programs and events. - Communicate with Remote Traffic, Transmission and Remote Operations, and various other ESPN departments, as well as vendor sources outside of ESPN. - Follow work orders instructions containing service information for a particular event. - Disseminate work order information and relay to all relevant parties in a prescribed time period before and during the event. - Plan and provide service and support of on-site transmission at remote sporting venues. - Plan and provide service and support of on-site telecommunications at remote sporting venues. - Attend site surveys for assigned remote events for venue analysis and written pre-event plans. - Maintain advanced knowledge about the operational and technical aspects of various telecom services and equipment. - Ensure that transport services and equipment vendors meet and maintain ESPN technical and operational standards. - Undertake special projects as assigned. - Travel and onsite support during weekend and evening hours required. Required Education - High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Additional Information - Must be able to lift more than 50lbs - Work nights, holidays, and weekends Benefits - The hiring range for this remote position is $55 to $80 per hour, which factors in various geographic regions. - The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

Role Description This position is in the Health Information Management Section of Medical Administration Service (MAS) at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care Medical Center (CTVHCS). Supervisory MRTs (Coder) are responsible for supervision, administrative management, and direction of coding staff at the facility level. They are responsible for program management of a coding section/unit to ensure performance monitors are established and met. - Applies comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, disease processes, treatment modalities, diagnostic tests, medications, procedures as well as the principles and practices of health services and the organizational structure to ensure proper code selection. - Selects and assigns codes from the current version of several coding systems to include current versions of the International Classification of Diseases Coding Modification (ICD-10-CM) and International Classification of Diseases Procedure Coding System (ICD-10-PCS). - Adheres to accepted coding practices, guidelines and conventions when choosing the most appropriate diagnosis, operation, procedure, ancillary, or Evaluation and Management code to ensure ethical, accurate, and complete coding. - Monitors ever-changing regulatory and policy requirements affecting coded information for the full spectrum of services provided by the VAMC. - Performs a comprehensive review of the patient health record to abstract medical, surgical, ancillary, demographic, social, and administrative data to ensure complete data capture. - Develops performance standards and conducts performance evaluations for subordinate staff. - Schedules the sequence of work and operations on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to assure even workflow and distribution. - Coordinates with other Service representatives on matters concerning health record documentation and coding. - Analyzes and recommends improvements in documentation systems used to provide patient care.
