Overview The Clinical Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care to all patients consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the pharmacy department. In providing this care, the pharmacist must review all drug orders and judge the appropriateness of those orders, i.e. appropriate drug, dose, frequency, etc. Drug related problems, such as potential allergic reactions, drug interactions, and other problems, must be identified and resolved. The pharmacist must also oversee the activities of supportive personnel working in the area. Pharmacists are expected to focus the full potential of their knowledge and experience on the assessment and improvement of patient care. They must be cognizant of medication-related, patient safety risks, and resolve or escalate identified problems in a timely manner. Role may allow for remote work based on the needs of the department at the discretion of the manager/supervisor. Responsibilities - Prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. - Ensures safe, appropriate, cost effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. - Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department. - Maintains competence required for current job title/position. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree Degree in pharmacy from an accredited school No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training - Licensed Pharmacist - MO - Employees must obtain Licensed Pharmacist - MO or equivalent within 90 days - PHARM LIC MO Licensed Pharmacist - MO or proof of pharmacy technician license, pharmacy intern license, or application submitted to board of pharmacy prior to hire with pharmacist license obtained within 90 days of hire.
