Professional Learning Sales Lead (Contract)

Role Summary The Professional Learning Sales Lead (Contractor) is responsible for driving net-new revenue for Open Up Resources’ professional learning offerings, including the Annual HIVE Conference. This role focuses exclusively on acquiring new customers beyond Open Up Resources’ existing district and school partners by building, managing, and closing a dedicated professional learning sales pipeline. This position is structured as a six-month pilot, with the opportunity for extension based on clearly defined performance outcomes and demonstrated scalability. Who This Role Is For This position is tailored for educational sales professionals who excel at generating leads, closing deals autonomously, and linking their compensation to their performance. It is not suitable for those looking for a primary hourly or administrative position.

Job Requirements

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and close professional learning sales opportunities in mathematics and English language arts
  • Drive outbound sales to districts, schools, networks, and education organizations not currently owned or actively pursued by the Sales team
  • Sell predefined professional learning offerings, including the Annual HIVE Conference
  • Own and manage a dedicated professional learning sales pipeline from prospecting through close
  • Generate a minimum of $150,000 in professional learning revenue during the pilot period
  • Sell a minimum of 50 HIVE Conference registrations by June 1
  • Coordinate closely with the Sales team to prevent account overlap or outreach conflict
  • Maintain accurate, timely pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting
  • Represent Open Up Resources’ academic vision, values, and brand with integrity in all external engagements
  • Qualifications
  • Proven track record of direct sales in the education sector
  • Demonstrated success selling professional learning, services, or comparable offerings
  • Experience or strong familiarity with mathematics and/or English language arts education
  • Strong closing skills and comfort operating in performance-based roles
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively in a contractor capacity
  • Success Criteria for Extension
  • Extension beyond the initial six-month pilot is contingent upon meeting all of the following criteria:
  • Sale of 50 or more HIVE Conference registrations by June 1, 2026
  • Collection of $150,000 or more in professional learning revenue
  • Clear evidence of a repeatable and scalable professional learning sales motion

Benefits

  • This is a non-benefited, contractor role includes a flat hourly base rate plus a commission structure.
  • Base rate: $55 per hour
  • Hours: Up to 20 hours per week
  • Base compensation supports prospecting, coordination, and pipeline development
