• The Technical Expert, Remote Technology Specialist is responsible for advancing the capability of the national workforce in remote and automated mining technologies across PTFI underground operations. • Ensure safe, reliable, and productive operation of remote and tele-remote mining systems across underground operations. • Diagnose and resolve complex automation, control, and communication system issues to minimize downtime. • Provide hands-on coaching and technical mentoring to develop national workforce capability in remote and automated systems. • Support commissioning, deployment, and optimization of remote and autonomous technologies, including testing and operational handover. • Ensure effective integration between mobile equipment, control systems, and underground communication networks. • Drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices, system performance, and reliability of remote-enabled equipment. • Collaborate with OEMs and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and improve system performance. • Lead or support RCFA investigations related to automation and remote-system failures. • Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and critical controls related to remote operations. • Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials to support sustainable capability development.

Job Requirements

  • Trade Certificate / Diploma in Automation, Auto-Electrical, Control Systems, or related discipline.
  • Eight (8) years of experience with remote or autonomous mining systems (preferred underground).
  • Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.
  • Strong experience with CAT Command (mandatory); exposure to Sandvik AutoMine / UFR – Universal Field Robots and RCT highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of CAN bus systems, PLCs, I/O architectures, communication protocols, wireless networks, and auto-electrical machine control systems (including sensors and camera systems).
  • Proven troubleshooting capability to diagnose and resolve complex onboard / offboard issues, including signal latency, communication loss, sensor calibration, camera systems, and control system failures.
  • Experience across FAT/SAT, commissioning, tuning, optimization, and deployment of remote and tele-remote technologies.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and control logic documentation.
  • Experience conducting RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) with a focus on defect elimination and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated capability in training and developing technicians and operators.
  • Strong collaborator to work across multiple divisions - Operations, Technology, and OEM stakeholders.

Role Description Une mission attractive L'onchocercose est une maladie tropicale négligée particulièrement débilitante touchant encore plusieurs dizaines de millions de personnes, essentiellement en Afrique subsaharienne. L'OMS souhaite interrompre sa transmission dans un tiers des pays endémiques d'ici 2030. La stratégie principale consiste en un traitement de masse annuel à base d'ivermectine dirigé par les communautés (CDTI). Malgré près de trois décennies de CDTI, la transmission persiste dans plusieurs foyers. Lors d'essais cliniques de phase II et III, la moxidectine a démontré une efficacité supérieure à celle de l'ivermectine, éliminant les microfilaires d'Onchocerca volvulus pendant près d'un an. Son efficacité et sa sécurité dans le cadre de traitements de masse à grande échelle n’ont pas encore été évaluées. Le projet EMINENCE, financé par le programme-cadre "Horizon Europe" (2025-2029), s'attaque à ces défis à travers : - Un essai communautaire randomisé de Phase IIIb comparant l’impact sur l’onchocercose de traitements annuels ou semestriels de moxidectine vs traitements annuels d'ivermectine, sur une durée de 4 ans. - Un essai randomisé séquentiel et adaptatif de Phase II testant la sécurité de la moxidectine chez des personnes infectées par L. loa. Le premier essai sera réalisé pendant 4 ans dans les aires de santé de Bafia et Monatele, au Cameroun. La population cible est de l’ordre de 200 000 personnes. Le second essai se déroulera au Cameroun et potentiellement en République du Congo. Le nombre de sujets à inclure dans cet essai est de l’ordre de 400 personnes. Sous la responsabilité d’un chercheur, votre mission sera de prendre part à la réalisation de deux essais cliniques visant à évaluer une stratégie thérapeutique visant à accélérer l’élimination de l’onchocercose. Vos activités seront les suivantes : - Mise en place du système de gestion des données. - Prendre part aux campagnes de recrutement des sujets, à la pharmacovigilance et aux phases d’évaluation parasitologique de l’essai clinique de Phase II. - Garantir les données cliniques et le respect du protocole ayant reçu la clairance éthique. - Ecrire et soumettre des publications scientifiques et des communications orales en anglais. Qualifications - Méthodologie des essais cliniques. - Pharmacovigilance. - Gestion de base de données. - Monitoring des données cliniques. - Animation de projets multi-pays et multi-partenaires. - Maitrise de l’anglais et du français, notamment en rédaction Niveau B2-C1.
