Job Description
Curriculum Development and Training – Independent Contractor
HealthCorps
• Differentiate existing Teens Make Health Happen curriculum into distinct middle school and high school products. • Develop a suite of facilitator trainings and supplemental training resources for Teens Make Happen mentor facilitators. • Design, pilot, and finalize training content in close collaboration with HealthCorps Mentor & Alumni, and Curriculum Development teams. • Review the existing unified TMHH curriculum to identify content requiring differentiation. • Deliver final curriculum documents in HealthCorps-approved formats. • Design and develop four facilitator trainings with accompanying materials. • Deliver a pilot session of all four trainings to the HealthCorps Regional Program Manager team (virtually) and incorporate feedback.
Job Requirements
- Valid formal teaching credential (state-issued; elementary, secondary, or multiple subject)
- Experience with curriculum differentiation across grade bands (middle and high school) and learning levels
- Familiarity with classroom management strategies and informal/afterschool learning environments
- Understanding of developmental differences between middle school and high school age groups
- Excellent written communication skills; ability to produce polished, mentor-ready instructional materials
- Ability to work independently, manage project timelines, and meet deliverable deadlines
- Preferred:
- Strong working knowledge of the National Health Education Standards (NHES 2024) and their application to curriculum design
- Direct experience facilitating or serving as a site sponsor for the Teens Make Health Happen (TMHH) program
- Proficiency in Canva

- Be responsible for their own taxes, benefits, and professional liability; no employee benefits are included
- Work remotely on a flexible schedule, with availability for scheduled check-ins with HealthCorps staff
- Be compensated at an agreed-upon project rate or hourly rate, as defined in the contractor agreement
- Not be considered an employee of HealthCorps for any purpose
