Job Description

Physician Oversight – Occupational Health Services

Cetechs

• Provide virtual physician services supporting the onsite DFAS Occupational Health Clinics • Review and develop standing orders for clinic procedures, workflows, and responsibilities including walk-in care, vaccinations/immunizations, health screenings, emergency medical care, and medication administration • Provide medical oversight of registered nurse staff with clarification of roles, responsibilities, and risk assignment • Respond to and assist with adverse events and emergency issues requiring physician expertise • Review abnormal laboratory and diagnostic test results within 48 hours or sooner if immediate need exists • Conduct initial and annual review of standing orders for the wellness center • Develop clinical protocols for workplace health assessments and occupational health surveillance • Provide guidance on health promotion programs and preventive care initiatives • Ensure regulatory compliance with occupational health and safety standards • Available for phone consultation regarding patient care decisions and emergency situations • Assess employee functional capacity and provide return-to-work recommendations • Review complex cases involving work-related injuries or illnesses • Conduct chart audits and case reviews of nursing duties performed

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Current, full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory
  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Occupational Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience
  • Occupational medicine, primary care, or emergency medicine experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with standing orders development and nursing oversight
  • Government or corporate healthcare experience advantageous
