IT Sr Network Engineer II

Role Description As a Sr. Network Engineer at Melaleuca, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. You will play a key role on a team of network engineers, provide technical expertise, and ensure the stability and scalability of our network. This position is responsible for high-level network planning, design, configuration, and optimization. This role also provides training to the other engineers on new technologies being implemented. Responsibilities - Involved in planning, implementing, and supporting network projects, identifying risks, documenting and communicating migration plans to improve our infrastructure. - Provide guidance and direction related to globally diverse traditional and software-defined networking strategies, interconnectivity and best practices. - Work with business stakeholders to define requirements and system goals and identify and resolve business systems issues. - Provide support of existing networks, including configuration of Cisco routers, switches, wireless, remote access, WAN devices and services. - Recommend and implement new technologies to support business needs and improvements through education of peers and business leaders. - Create and maintain accurate and current technical documentation and configurations for all aspects of our global network. - Monitor global network for outages and performance issues, and make tuning adjustments based on results. - Perform preventative maintenance services on all devices within area of responsibility including network hardware/software update scheduling, installing, and testing. - Coordinate with carriers for circuit turn-ups, sizing, procurement, outages and migrations. - Be available for on-call rotation and possible travel when needed. - Manage all tasks and projects, and ensure that all items are tracked in the ticketing system and being handled in a manner that meets or exceeds established OLAs and SLAs. - Promote teamwork within the team and foster cooperation with other groups and departments. - Maintain current knowledge of emerging trends in the network technology market. Qualifications - This role is remote but individuals must live in or be open to relocate to ID, UT. - Experience with Cisco Next Gen Firewalls and Firewall Management Center FTD 7.X preferred. - 6+ years of hands-on networking and troubleshooting experience in a multiprotocol environment. - 5+ years’ experience maintaining current router and switch technology, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, MPLS, EIGRP, etc.). - 4+ years’ experience supporting and testing LANs, VLANs, WLANs, VPNs, NAT devices and DHCP services. - 3+ years’ experience with network security products and protocols (e.g., IPS/IDS, IPSEC VPN). - CCNP preferred. - Experience with network monitoring, logging, and management platforms (e.g., Solarwinds, Splunk, ThousandEyes, AppDynamics, etc.). - Experience with Cisco Nexus 9k, 7k, 5k, ISR, ASR. - Experience with Meraki wireless. - Demonstrated leadership ability. - Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy. - Ability to analyze problems and create solutions. - Must work independently and professionally. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work under stress and work overtime as needed.
