Coding Specialist, Educator

Centacare Catholic Family Services - Adelaide

• Responsible for taking a guiding role in the orientation and ongoing education of all healthcare professionals involved in the coding and documentation processes of CentraCare. • Ensuring the accuracy of information in coding processes through periodic audits. • Conduct reeducation and training of staff to ensure departments meet targets. • Serve as a figurehead of knowledge related to all coding systems, regulations, and reimbursement requirements.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of college level courses of coding in IDC, CPT4, and HCPCS verified through AHIMA or AAPC or relevant experience in anatomy and physiology and medical terminology.
  • 2 years Minimum of experience in Coding required.
  • AHIMA (CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA) or AAPC Coding Credential.
  • Successful completion of medical terminology course preferred.
  • Previous experience working with EPIC preferred.
  • Working knowledge of insurance and third-party billing preferred.
  • Computer knowledge and keyboard skills.
