Job Description
Staff Product Designer
Elation Health
Role Description As a Staff Product Designer, you'll lead the design for how primary care clinicians work. You’ll develop a deep understanding of their workflows to inspire an AI-native experience while keeping the team grounded in day-to-day clinical practice. This role is for someone who creates and champions compelling UX strategy and experience visions while guiding work across multiple squads. You'll shape interaction patterns and contribute to visual language development — all while modeling the craft, curiosity, and collaborative ways of working that raise the bar for designers around you. Clinicians have repeatedly awarded Elation "Best in KLAS" in our category, a recognition that reflects our clinician-first approach to everything we build. Reporting up through our Chief Product Officer, you'll work autonomously within your team while remaining connected to a centralized design group that is deeply collaborative and curious. You'll also find enthusiastic partners in our on-staff physicians, our users, and teams across the organization. If you want to do complex, meaningful work at the place where design and healthcare intersect, we'd love to hear from you! Qualifications - 8+ years of experience designing and shipping complex, web-based products in a cross-functional team. - A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces, from research and strategy through to polished, human-centered user experiences. Your portfolio should showcase your strengths in UX, UI, and visual design. - Proven experience in leading and executing a variety of user research methods. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of building strong partnerships with Product and Engineering. - Experience in designing for complex workflows is a must; experience in healthcare or with AI-powered experiences is a strong plus. Requirements - Deeply understand our users — their problems, workflows, and jobs-to-be-done — to ensure we are always solving for the right thing. - Own and lead the design process from discovery to delivery, making key decisions on solution direction and details. - Drive the strategic direction of your domain in partnership with Product and Engineering, forecasting the impact of your solutions on users. - Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver a clear, consistent, and high-quality user experience. - As an AI-native design leader, you will balance cutting-edge technology with patient safety and accuracy across user-facing and backend experiences. - Define and own the user satisfaction and usability metrics for your solutions, ensuring the team is aligned on how to measure success. - Be a leader on the design team by mentoring other designers, leading design critiques, and driving initiatives that improve our culture, tools, and processes. Benefits - SALARY RANGE: $160,000 - 185,000 USD - Elation welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life. - Elation is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and is dedicated to creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive work environment. - We are committed to equal opportunity for all employees and applicants, and value individuals with diverse perspectives including, but not limited to: race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, age, gender identity or gender expression, national origin, disability or veteran status. - Elation also complies with all applicable national, state and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment as well as work authorization and employment eligibility verification requirements of the Immigration and Nationality Act and IRCA. - We firmly believe a strong culture that supports a diverse and inclusive workforce allows us to achieve Elation’s mission of helping independent primary care thrive.

Role Description We are looking for a UX/UI Designer with exceptional digital illustration skills to help elevate the user experience, visual quality, and consistency of our digital products. This role goes far beyond wireframing or creating standalone artwork. You will sit at the intersection of product strategy and visual craftsmanship—shaping the user journey while simultaneously defining the visual language of our platform. We need someone who cares deeply about user psychology, interaction design, and product scalability, but who can also roll up their sleeves to create stunning, production-ready illustrations and custom iconography. We value execution, craftsmanship, and attention to detail over formal credentials. If you take pride in creating intuitive user experiences and polished, developer-friendly design systems, we’d love to hear from you. Qualifications - End-to-End UX/UI Design: Own the design process from concept to fidelity—including user research insights, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final pixel-perfect interfaces. - Visual Storytelling & Illustration: Design and deliver high-quality custom illustrations, empty-state graphics, onboarding visuals, and iconography that enhance usability and strengthen brand identity within the product. - Product & Engineering Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers and Frontend Engineers to advocate for the user, validate design decisions, and ensure seamless implementation. - Design System Scaling: Champion our Figma design system. Help establish, maintain, and scale reusable UI components, layout patterns, and asset libraries across products. - Developer-Friendly Handoffs: Create highly organized, structured design files and documentation that support efficient frontend engineering implementation. - Rapid Iteration & Testing: Quickly translate user feedback, data analytics, and product requirements into elegant, intuitive, and measurable design solutions. - Hybrid Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating both user-centered product design (case studies showing user flows, wireframes, and UX thinking) and exceptional visual craft (digital illustration, UI design, typography, and branding). - Advanced Figma Expertise: Mastery of Figma, including advanced auto-layout, variables, component properties, and maintaining scalable design systems. - UI/UX Fundamentals: Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and accessibility (WCAG) standards. - Visual Design Mastery: An elite eye for composition, color theory, visual hierarchy, and modern digital design trends. - An Engineering Mindset: Experience creating clean SVG assets, responsive layouts, and structured design tokens that make life easy for frontend developers. - Extreme Attention to Detail: You notice inconsistencies that others miss, from a misaligned pixel to a friction-filled user flow. Requirements - Nice to Have: Motion & Micro-interactions: Experience with motion design or animation tools (e.g., After Effects, Rive, Lottie) to bring UI transitions and illustrations to life. - Frontend Literacy: A basic understanding of HTML, CSS/Tailwind, or frontend development workflows. - Industry Experience: Experience working on gaming, entertainment, consumer tech, or creator-focused digital products. Benefits - We offer more than just an art commission; we offer the chance to paint the visual blueprint of a global powerhouse. - Absolute Creative Sovereignty: We value raw aesthetic output over bureaucratic red tape. If your visual direction is sharp and moves the needle, we run it. - Global Canvas: Your custom illustrations will instantly step onto a global stage, defining the experience for thousands of active web users every single day. - A Culture of Momentum: Join a team that moves at lightspeed. You will be constantly creating, testing new visual boundaries, and seeing your art deployed to production in real time. - High-Growth Upside: We value "potential over pedigree." For a Digital Illustrator whose visual style defines our product culture, there is a clear runway for long-term partnership and increased structural leverage.
