Your Role Our paralegals support and manage collections and tax caseload for a legal staff of 10 staff attorneys and Chief Counsel of the Department of Revenue. They review and prioritize client and court referrals and requests; draft, edit, issue and serve high-quality documents for various legal actions; communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse group of coworkers, clients, opposing counsel and court personnel; approve payments for services; correctly process and apply incoming payments; investigate, research and solve issues, and assist with improvements in technology and office automation. Salary Information Salary for this Paralegal position (schedule-range 07-04) is $57,928 to $69,180 annually ($27.85 to 33.26 hourly), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan in effect at the time of hire. Starting pay for current state employees may vary based on applicable provisions in the Compensation Plan. Job Details Background Checks: Due to the nature of this position, final candidates will be subject to criminal background, fingerprint, and tax compliance checks. I-9 Requirements: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship) at the time of appointment.
