What You Bring to Cambia: Qualifications: Strategic Financial Analyst Senior typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics or statistics. CPA, CMA, MBA or ASA, along with health insurance experience preferred plus 7-9 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strategic Financial Analyst Lead typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics or statistics. CPA, CMA, MBA or ASA, along with health insurance experience preferred plus 12 or more years of responsible experience and completion of certifications required in area of specification or equivalent combination of education and experience. Compensation Ranges: Senior Strategic Financial Analyst - Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho: The expected hiring range for a Strategic Finance Analyst Sr is $101,200.00 – $136,900.00, the full salary range is $95,000.00 – $155,000.00 and the bonus target is 15%. - North Dakota: The expected hiring range is $90,906.65 - $122,991.35, the full salary range is $80,716 - $133,182. Lead Strategic Financial Analyst - Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho: The expected hiring range for a Strategic Finance Analyst Ld is $121,600.00 – $164,500.00, the full salary range is $114,000.00 – $186,000.00 and the bonus target is 15%. - North Dakota: The expected hiring range is $114,251.05 – 154,574.95, the full salary range is $101,444 – $167,383. How You’ll Make an Impact Financial Management - Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close processes. - Drive the annual organizational budget process in collaboration with program and department leads; monitor performance against budget throughout the year. - Build and maintain multi-year financial models to support scenario planning and strategic decision-making. What We’re Looking For Required Skills & Experience People Leadership - 3+ years of direct supervisory experience. - Experience coaching and developing staff. - You've navigated difficult people decisions: performance management, role transitions, team restructuring, or separations. Knowledge and Technical Skills - 5+ years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or director-level role in a nonprofit organization. - Demonstrated experience managing audits, preparing or overseeing Form 990 preparation, and working with external auditors. - Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting (GAAP), fund accounting, and grant compliance. - Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and strong Google Sheets skills. Communication and Leadership - Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership and board members. - Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, accessible formats. • Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process; ensure timeliness, accuracy, and GAAP compliance across all financial statements; maintain the general ledger, oversee journal entries, account reconciliations, and consolidations • Own complex areas critical to biotech including R&D and clinical trial expense accruals, stock-based compensation, leases, collaboration and licensing arrangements, revenue recognition, and equity/financing transactions; document positions in clear technical memos • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors; lead the annual financial statement audit from planning through issuance, including audit schedules, PBC requests, and management responses • Manage the company’s cash position, bank relationships, and investment accounts; oversee cash flow forecasting, wire approvals, and operating account controls; ensure clear visibility into the company’s liquidity runway at all times • Prepare accurate and timely internal financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for the CFO, executive team, and Board; design, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment and accounting policies consistent with GAAP and SOX-readiness standards • Oversee federal, state, and local tax filings (or coordinate with external advisors); manage R&D tax credits and all regulatory reporting requirements • Evaluate, implement, and optimize accounting systems and finance tools (ERP, expense management, procurement workflows); deploy AI strategically and responsibly; scale and modernize the finance tech stack to meet the demands of a growing clinical-stage biotech • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, payroll providers, and accounting consultants; hold vendors accountable to scope, budget, and timeline • Directly manage, develop, and retain the finance team; serve as the day-to-day mentor and primary resource for finance staff; build a high-performance culture within the function
