Machine Learning Engineer – Edge ML, IoT
The Formula Consulting
• You will be part of a 35-person team of engineering enthusiasts specializing in sensors, IoT, and hardware. • Together with your colleagues you will take on the following tasks: • You will develop a next-generation localization product with a learning-based map architecture. • You will design and implement visual and acoustic sensor systems for drone detection. • You will develop a multi-sensor perception and fusion system for the drone early-warning system. • You will run machine learning and AI models directly on local sensors instead of on cloud servers. • You will design scalable machine learning models and deploy them directly onto the drone-detection devices. • You will implement scalable intelligence with low-latency inference. • Together with Fusion Engineers, MLOps and DevOps Engineers you will enable fast and secure deployments. • You will monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, and continuously improve observability. • If you wish, you can support on-site deployments, collect sensor data, and validate the technology in controlled field trials.
Job Requirements
- Due to security regulations for this role, citizenship of an EU member state is required.
- You must be officially registered (resident) in an EU country.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT (e.g., software engineering).
- Minimum 2 years of full-time professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, ideally with a focus on acoustics.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the IoT domain.
- Fluent in Python and familiar with the relevant frameworks.
- Strong experience with the Embedded Linux ecosystem.
- Initial experience with cloud platforms.
- You have worked at least 2 consecutive years for the same employer.
- Fluent English; any additional spoken language is a plus.
- You are comfortable working in the defense sector.
- You thrive in a dynamic startup or scaleup environment.
- You are motivated to work operationally and hands-on (not in management) for the next 3–5 years.
- Ideally experience with fleet data, Bash, Golang, C/C++, MLOps, and DevOps.
- Ideally willing to travel 2–3 days per quarter for field trials.
