Role Description Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support operations within the Directed Energy business unit. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and integration of advanced mechanical systems that support high-energy laser and microwave technologies. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing and analyzing structural components, thermal management systems, and precision assemblies critical to directed energy platforms. - Supporting fabrication, testing, and validation efforts to ensure systems meet stringent performance, reliability, and safety requirements. Qualifications - 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or 3 years experience with Masters or PhD in a related field. - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Self-motivated with strong work ethic. - Ability to think critically and problem solve in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to translate requirements into tasks and completed designs. - Ability to perform fundamental analysis working from first principles. - Experience with SolidWorks CAD tools. 2D and 3D. - Experience in creating DFMEA. - Hands-on prototyping experience. - Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. - Experience with fabrication and methods of manufacture. - Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance. Requirements - Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering (bonus points). - Experience with FEA and CFD analysis (bonus points). - Experience with MATLAB and/or ANSYS (bonus points). - Experience executing PM activities that may include cost, schedule, engagement, etc. (bonus points). - Experience engineering hardware for Department of Defense (bonus points). - Ability to communicate effectively with government stakeholders, company leadership, and technical subject matter experts in a wide range of disciplines (bonus points). - Experience with SolidWorks Product Data Management (bonus points). • Build React components and UI features across our web products, working closely from design specs • Contribute to and maintain Aave's component library and design system • Work with designers to understand intent and proactively find resolutions • Write clean, consistent TypeScript and CSS that other engineers enjoy working with • Collaborate with the wider engineering team to ensure components are performant, accessible, and reusable

• Work autonomously across our web products, designing and building high-quality UI • Own and evolve complex, reusable components within the Aave design system • Bring product-level thinking to everything you work on • Collaborate with our talented designers, engineers, and product leads

• Infrastructure Security Implementation Support: Assist in implementing network security controls including firewalls, IPS/IDS, and proxies under supervision. • Security Technology Configuration: Support deployment and configuration of security technologies including SIEM, EDR, and endpoint protection. • Security Configuration and Hardening: Apply security hardening standards to servers, workstations, and network devices under supervision. • Security Monitoring and Incident Support: Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM and security tools under guidance. • Technical Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain accurate technical documentation for security implementations. • Security Testing and Validation: Perform straightforward security testing activities under supervision.
