Title: Part Time Stagehand Location: Pittsburgh United States Job Description: WTAE-TV, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA has an opening for a part-time Broadcast Production Assistant. We are looking for a team player who understands the flexible schedule that the broadcast industry requires to join our production crew. You will be responsible for operating teleprompter related to live broadcasts and post-production. You will work to guarantee a successful broadcast is produced. You will report to the News Operations Manager. Responsibilities - Move and handle props and sets during productions - Construction, maintenance, installation and operation of props, cameras, prompters, sets and other production equipment - Lighting and script preparation for newscasts - Maintain appearance of studios including cleaning of set and floors - Climb ladders to change light bulbs and adjust fixtures on the grid - Assist the directors Requirements - Can deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production - Related military experience will be considered - Must be a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees union Local #3 or be willing to join the union by tendering initiation fee and monthly dues as required by I.A.T.S.E, Local #3 to maintain employment. - In-person attendance is required Values in Action At Hearst Television we tell stories every day.
