Job Description

Director – Electronic Health Record (EHR), Health Technology Consulting

Guidehouse

• Engagement leadership across the EHR lifecycle. • Lead implementation, go-live, and post-live optimization engagements end to end, including command center operations, cutover and conversion strategy, defect management, adoption planning, and the stabilization activities required to achieve a fully operational system. • Revenue cycle performance. • Lead revenue cycle implementation and optimization engagements with measurable impact on key financial metrics, including net collection rate, cash acceleration, denial rate, accounts receivable days, cost-to-collect, and clean claim rate. • Connect technical configuration — charging, claims, remittance, 835/ERA, cash posting, and lockbox and banking transitions — to financial outcomes that are visible to client leadership. • Patient throughput and logistics. • Lead engagements across capacity and patient logistics platforms, including Grand Central, Transfer Center, and Capacity Command Center, linking bed management, transfer operations, and command center workflows to outcomes such as length of stay, transfer acceptance, capacity utilization, and patient flow. • Executive relationship management. • Serve as a trusted advisor to CFO, COO, CIO/CMIO, and revenue cycle and operational leadership. Anticipate client needs and develop individual engagements into sustained, multi-workstream relationships. • Account growth and practice development. • Own account strategy and growth, lead pursuits and proposal development, and apply sound commercial judgment to scoping and pricing. • Contribute to the development of the practice through delivery frameworks, methodologies, and the mentorship and growth of consulting staff. • Thought leadership. • Advance a clear, evidence-based point of view on adoption and sustainability — the factors that determine whether a build, optimization, or other consulting solution endures beyond go-live — and apply that perspective to the design of engagements.

Job Requirements

  • Requires a University Degree and minimum 10+ years of prior relevant consulting and/or work experience.
  • Demonstrated, repeated success leading EHR implementations, go-lives, and optimizations through stabilization at a lead or director level.
  • A proven track record in revenue cycle, with fluency in hospital finance metrics and the configuration decisions that influence them.
  • Demonstrated success in patient throughput and logistics, including capacity command center, transfer center, and bed and flow operations (Grand Central, Transfer Center, Capacity Command Center).
  • A proven track record of leading client accounts and developing executive (C-suite) relationships into sustained, expanding engagements.
  • A well-developed, evidence-based point of view on adoption and sustainability for build and other consulting solutions, with the ability to articulate and defend it to senior executives.
  • Strong leadership judgment in ambiguous environments, the credibility to advise at the executive level, and a demonstrated commitment to developing others.
