Role Description We are seeking a proactive AI Automation and Systems Integration Specialist to work directly with the founder in building an intelligent, automated, and scalable business environment. This is a hands-on role focused on: - Power BI development - AI-driven automation - Systems integration - Digital operations support You will design, implement, and continuously improve tools, workflows, and data systems that improve efficiency and decision-making. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, independence, and the ability to work effectively in ambiguity. This is a full-time, non-client-facing position working closely with a senior stakeholder in a remote setup. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly accountable, and able to identify and build improvements independently. This is a foundational role with a strong opportunity to shape how the business operates and scales. Key Responsibilities - Power BI & Business Intelligence - Design and maintain Power BI dashboards (DAX, modelling, reporting) - Build a unified daily business snapshot integrating Microsoft 365, Xero, ProjectManager, and Hubspot (CRM) data - Develop scalable reporting frameworks for performance, financials, and operations - AI Automation & Systems Integration - Design and implement AI-driven workflows and automation systems - Build API-based integrations across business platforms - Identify and remove manual processes through automation utilising existing available tools including Microsoft Suite - Automated Intelligence & Reporting - Develop systems that generate daily intelligence on: - Energy markets and pricing - Regulatory and policy updates - Financial and macroeconomic indicators - Grants, funding, and industry activity - Deliver structured automated summaries for decision-making - Executive & Operational Support - Support executive workflows including action tracking, meeting preparation, and documentation automation - Build systems enabling effective business management across desktop and mobile - Project task management support through online ProjectManager application - Establish short AI generated imagery and videos for client proposals utilising company branding guidelines - Microsoft 365 & Systems Optimisation - Optimise Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Copilot) - Improve document structure, workflow efficiency, and accessibility across devices - LinkedIn & Market Intelligence - Support LinkedIn as a business intelligence and insight channel - Extract and summarise industry activity, trends, and opportunities - Support posting of pre-prepared content where required - Systems Support & Innovation - Provide remote IT and systems troubleshooting support - Coordinate external technical support where required - Support development of lightweight internal tools and automation prototypes Qualifications - Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in data, business intelligence, automation, or systems integration roles - Strong Power BI experience (DAX, data modelling, dashboards) - Proven experience in AI automation and workflow design - Strong understanding of existing leading AI capability including Chat GPT and CoPilot - Experience with API integrations and multi-platform system connectivity - Strong understanding of data reporting and business intelligence - Advanced Microsoft 365 capability (Excel, Power BI, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Copilot) - Experience with CRM and business systems (HubSpot, Xero) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent written and verbal English communication - Ability to work independently in a remote, founder-led environment Preferred/Nice-to-Have - Experience building automated intelligence or monitoring systems (market, regulatory, or financial data) - Exposure to energy, infrastructure, or sustainability sectors - Workflow automation across multiple business systems - Understanding of industrial communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, CSIP) - Experience in early-stage or small business digital transformation environments - Remote IT or systems administration experience Work Arrangement & Expectations This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
