Role Description McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips, P.A. (MVP Law) is looking for a Legal Secretary/Transcriptionist to help us meet the needs of our growing practice. Our Legal Secretaries assist our attorney teams with their scheduling and daily administrative needs in order to allow our timekeepers to use their billable time effectively. Candidates should work well both independently and within a team to assist our attorneys in scheduling, calendaring and the production of documents. - Manages the dictation of assigned attorneys and paralegals by transcribing directly - Reviews, processes, and saves incoming mail, emails, and faxes electronically - Assists assigned attorneys with their schedules and scheduling - Assists with client billing and attorney travel and expense reports - Assists with opening, maintaining, and closing files - Responds to record and legal documentation requests, as needed - Answers phone calls, takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate parties - Submits vendor invoices for payment - Drafts and updates client budgets - Works with highly confidential information and always maintains utmost confidentiality - Acts in a stewardship capacity for MVP, works as a genuine, confident, functional member of the team, is hardworking with the ability to be innovative and firm focused in alignment with our core values Qualifications - High school diploma AND a minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a law firm/professional services environment or as a legal/medical transcriptionist - Must live in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Illinois, Iowa, Florida, or Texas - Superb communication/customer service skills - both written and verbal - Microsoft Office proficiency - Organized - Ability to juggle multiple high priority tasks at a time - Prior experience with Philips SpeechLive and/or Litify is a plus Benefits - Competitive salaries and production bonuses - Generous and impactful benefit plan offerings for full-time employees including Medical, Dental, Vision, Voluntary Life and AD&D, HSA plan, and day one 401(k) eligibility - Generous 401(k) employer match - Profit-Sharing Plan - Employer paid HSA contributions - Telemedicine - Group Life and AD&D - Short- and Long-Term Disability coverage - Mental Health Support program Company Description With a strong focus on our beliefs – RESPECT EVERYONE, REAL RELATIONSHIPS, and REPUTATION - we build trust and confidence and challenge the status quo through knowledge, innovation, and attentiveness.
