Assistant Research Scientist – Remote Sensing, Geospatial Data Analytics
Texas A&M University System
• Lead the remote sensing and geospatial analytics component of the Texas Conservation & Sustainability Initiative (TCSI)-monitoring, measuring, reporting and verification (MMRV) component of the project and is expected to use their expertise on remote sensing and AI to develop MMRV tools for assessing conservation outcomes using the huge amount of data generated from this project • Work on the synthesis, integration, and analysis of large datasets obtained from remote sensing platforms such as Satellite imagery, online databases, and ground sensors and develop pipelines for multi-source data integration systems in agriculture • Publish peer-reviewed papers and support grant writing • Support projects on the development of digital twin systems, models, and user interfaces for visualizations, mapping, predictions, and prescriptions • Mentor graduate students learning to conduct geospatial science/engineering, remote sensing • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or a closely related discipline
- Relevant professional experience
- Experience in processing, analyzing, and modeling remote sensing data, particularly satellite imagery (optical and radar/SAR)
- Proficiency in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and geospatial data analytics
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, geospatial databases, and large-scale data processing workflows is desirable
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to publish in high‐quality peer‐reviewed journals
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary research environments and contribute to team-based projects

Role Description Provide mapping and cartographic analysis in support of infrastructure department. Work as a team member on projects encompassing company goals and government requirements. Responsible for maintaining and supporting company mapping providing asset tracking. Ability to aid in ArcGIS Enterprise maintenance. - Utilize various GIS programs, extensions and tools to provide necessary analysis as requested. - Create web apps and web maps based on data from ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Portal. - Aid in ArcGIS Enterprise Maintenance including database management and management of ArcGIS Portal. - Use ArcGIS modelbuilder, python, or like tools to automate processes. - Create processes and analysis to increase efficiency of data transfer, representation, and analysis. - Conduct research, create/convert GIS data, maps, reports, charts, and other cartographic displays as needed. - Update and analyze engineering model input data for network expansion. - Support tower construction and buildout comprehensive studies with internal staff and outside consultants. - Assist with tower management of the vertical assets through GIS and BillMax software. - Help coordinate FCC reporting and executive meetings and presentations. - Review and coordinate public and executive information requests sent to this section. - Map and maintain Company Current and Planned two to ten-year projects. - Map and track RF engineering study submissions and evaluate for coverage. - Perform research for various planning and wholesale inquiries. - Attend company meetings related to planned and ongoing projects. - Provide support and information to development community inquiries, other divisions, departments and outside entities. - Perform other duties as assigned.
