Council Communications Analyst Location: Provo United States Job Description: The Provo City Municipal Council is seeking a part-time Communications Analyst to assist the Council Office in communicating Council priorities, actions, and processes in a clear, consistent, and accessible manner. This position supports the Council's communication efforts, helping ensure transparency and public understanding by providing timely, accurate information to the Provo community through a variety of communication channels. What will I do? - Prepare and publish plain-English explanations of upcoming Council agenda items, public policy issues, and major Council decisions. - Develop recurring public information content including Council Meeting previews, Council Meeting recaps, and FAQ and myth-versus-fact explainers. - Create proactive messaging to address likely public questions or misconceptions before issues become controversial. - Research, interview, write, and edit stories related to City Council actions, neighborhood issues, redevelopment projects, housing, budgeting, transportation, and other civic topics. - Translate technical, legal, or policy-heavy information into understandable public-facing communications. - Develop and maintain professional relationships with journalists, editors, and community media voices including newspapers, television, radio, podcasts, university publications, and digital media organizations. - Monitor local media and social media conversations regarding Council topics and identify opportunities for clarification or proactive communication, coordinate with Council leadership for interviews and media inquiries. - Assist with management of Council social media accounts and digital communications platforms, develop social media strategies and recurring content series to improve resident engagement and public understanding and analyze the performance of these strategies on social media based on audience engagement trends. - Prepare graphics, captions, short-form video content, and multimedia storytelling materials. - Coordinate timely communication before, during, and after Council meetings. - Identify innovative methods for improving resident communication and public engagement including AI-assisted tools. - Assist with maintaining a coordinated communications calendar tied to Council agendas, projects, and major initiatives. - Help ensure official Council communications remain factual, professional, transparent, and accessible. What are the requirements to apply? Provo City will honor equivalent combinations of work experience and education. - Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, English, Digital Media, or a closely related field. - One (1) year of professional experience in journalism, reporting, media relations, strategic communications, public affairs, digital communications, or related professional communications - Preference will be given to individuals with professional newsroom or reporting experience and/or experience covering government, politics, public policy, or civic affairs. - Experience producing multimedia or social media content for public audiences is a plus. - Experience with photography, video editing, podcasting, or digital storytelling is a plus. - Familiarity with AI-assisted communication tools and workflows is a plus. • Monitor and investigate security alerts across customer environments • Triage, investigate, and respond to security incidents from detection through resolution • Analyze endpoint, network, and log data to identify malicious activity • Communicate findings and remediation recommendations to customers and internal teams • Document investigations, response actions, and incident outcomes • Partner with Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, and Security Research teams to improve detections and response capabilities

• Support large-scale digitization: Support end-to-end scanning and conversion of 400 million pages, coordinating batch schedules, shipments, and inventories with the scanning vendor and site contacts. • Help prepare files, verify scanning specs (e.g., resolution, color, formats), and organize outputs for downstream processing. • Perform QC checks: Review scanned images and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) outputs for completeness and usability (e.g., missing pages, blur/skew, duplicates, OCR failures) using the project QC plan (including sample reviews per batch). • Log defects, escalate issues, and coordinate re-scan/corrections; maintain quality logs and exception reports. • Metadata tagging and validation: Capture and validate required metadata per the federal client schema (e.g., identifiers, dates, participant details, file descriptors), ensuring accuracy and consistent formats. • Use authoritative identifiers where applicable; flag unknown values as exceptions and coordinate remediation rather than guessing. • Maintain chain-of-custody: Follow chain-of-custody procedures to track physical files through scanning and return. • Maintain inventories, manifests, and transfer forms; immediately report mismatches or missing items to protect accountability and compliance. • Coordinate with vendor and team: Coordinate day-to-day with the scanning vendor and internal team to receive and organize batch deliverables (images, metadata exports, QC/exception reports). • Perform initial acceptance checks (formats, completeness), communicate deficiencies for correction, and support prioritization (e.g., expedited records) under senior direction. • Assist with OCR and IDP: Monitor Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)/OCR processing to ensure text is extracted and correctly associated with each file and its metadata, including multilingual content. • Spot-check accuracy (including handwriting where applicable) and flag low-confidence outputs or processing issues for follow-up. • Support platform integration: Help prepare and ingest digitized records and metadata into the federal client platform(s) by supporting secure pipelines, uploads, and batch verification. • Validate schema/acceptance criteria and assist troubleshooting (e.g., formatting or ingestion errors) with technical leads. • Contribute to reporting and documentation: Track progress and quality metrics (e.g., batches processed, QC pass rates, metadata completion/exceptions) and draft inputs to routine status reports for the federal client and project leadership. • Maintain task-level SOP notes and issue logs to support transparency, training, and audits.

Architect analytic solutions for cross-system analysis, implement automated data collection workflows, ensure data integrity for informed decision-making, and translate technical findings into actionable steps for stakeholders.
