Job Description

Technical Training Support Specialist

Target Specialty Products

• Support all Turf and Pest initiatives • Plan, conduct, and administer programs that train employees and improve their skills and knowledge on products, vendors, services, and other designated training • Support sales representatives with training and events for customers • Assist in building online training curriculum, including for CEUs, and maintain our training website • Complete insect identifications and provide treatment recommendations • Provide technical expertise and guidance to key accounts (pest management firms) • Assist in product evaluation and demonstration projects (trials with MFG) • Public speaker / Training at various industry events • Assist associations on committees and board positions • Technical writing skills for print/digital materials for presentation, technical updates and trade magazines including social media • Assist Sales Directors with Key account presentations on training • Coordinates Target Seminars workshops from start to finish • Maintains customer LMS by uploading new content, providing users access, and working with platform to learn and implement new features • Creating Worker Safety training materials for California customer training

Job Requirements

  • Experience speaking publicly
  • Experience in pest management and/or specialty agriculture training, outreach, and education (workshops, print/digital materials, etc.)
  • Experience overseeing technical training content for marketing and sales purposes
  • Experience with managing training programs and resources
  • Experience with insect identifications and treatment recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Entomology or related field
  • Licensed Pest Control Advisor (or qualifies) or Certified Applicator (for CA)
  • Board Certified Entomologist (or qualifies to take the exam)

Role Description The Tier 2 Support Specialist provides advanced technical support, incident resolution, and system troubleshooting for VA users, applications, and infrastructure. In this role you will serve as the escalation point between Tier 1 service desk teams and Tier 3 engineering teams, ensuring timely resolution of complex issues impacting mission‑critical VA operations. The specialist works within VA OIT processes, adheres to TRM‑approved technologies, and supports secure, compliant IT service delivery for Veterans and VA staff.
