About the role: Boston Scientific is seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiologist to join our Global Cardiology Group as a Global Medical Director. Your responsibilities will include: ● Serve as the medical expert and patient advocate for cardiovascular therapies throughout the product lifecycle. ● Provide medical leadership and benefit-risk assessment across product development, clinical studies and post-market activities. ● Partner with Clinical, Clinical Evidence, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Marketing and Business Development teams to support medical strategy and decision-making. ● Provide medical oversight for clinical studies, including protocol development, investigator engagement, patient safety monitoring, data interpretation and scientific dissemination. ● Support post-market surveillance, safety signal assessment, risk management activities and health hazard evaluations. ● Collaborate with health care providers, investigators and internal teams to evaluate adverse events, device performance trends and emerging clinical and safety concerns. ● Represent Boston Scientific with regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders, professional societies and advisory boards. ● Review and approve clinical, scientific, educational and regulatory materials to ensure medical accuracy and compliance. ● Contribute clinical expertise to innovation initiatives, portfolio strategy, business development evaluations, product development activities and due diligence efforts. ● Support training, mentorship and development of medical and cross-functional teams. Required qualifications: ● Valid and unrestricted Medical Doctor (MD) degree or accepted international equivalent. ● Board certified or board eligible in Interventional Cardiology, or equivalent international certification. ● Valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine and in good standing with the applicable licensing authority. ● Minimum of 5 years' experience in independent Interventional Cardiology practice, including management of complex coronary, structural heart and advanced interventional procedures. ● Demonstrated expertise in Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart therapies, with strong clinical judgment and patient-centered decision-making. ● Strong ability to evaluate clinical and safety data, assess benefit-risk profiles and apply sound medical judgment to complex issues. ● Working knowledge of clinical trial methodology, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), medical device development. Preferred qualifications: ● Demonstrated interest and commitment to transitioning from clinical practice to the medical device industry, with realistic expectations about the learning curve and a willingness to contribute in a hands-on role while building industry experience. ● Proven experience as a clinical investigator, medical advisor or consultant within the medical device, biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. ● Participation in Clinical Events Committees (CEC), Data Monitoring Committees (DMC), Institutional Review Boards (IRB) or similar scientific oversight bodies. ● Knowledge of medical risk management, post-market surveillance and global medical device regulations. ● Global perspective and familiarity with evolving interventional cardiology and structural heart practices across diverse health care systems.
