Mid-Level Naval Electrical Engineer
CACI International Inc
• Provide technical support on various engineering ship design projects • Review and analyze preliminary and functional design documentation of shipboard electrical, marine, control, and alarm and monitoring systems • Perform contractual specification write-up and review/research regulatory rules and commercial standards • Develop and oversee deliverables, QA, root cause failures, and risk assessment for electrical system on Navy Vessels • Write-up technical reports on electrical system assessment on Navy vessels • Familiar with commercial standards (e.g., ABS MVR, ABS NVR) • Perform engineering site visits and shipchecks at various Navy and Commercial Shipyards • Perform electrical feasibility and trade-off studies for selection of generators, motors, variable frequency drives, transformers, UPS, control panels, cables, timers, circuit breakers, power panels, batteries, relays, etc. • Collaborate with other QA/review engineering mid-level, senior, and expert staff and generate final electrical technical products (e.g. Contract Deliverables, reports, etc.)
Job Requirements
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Engineering (BSE/BE)
- BS/AS in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or marine engineering; or similar background
- significant US Navy enlisted equivalency training with an Associate’s degree will be accepted in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
- 3-7 years of experience in US Naval Ship Engineering, NAVSEA/PEO Governmental Organizations, Shipyard Construction and Repair, Ship Operations, or similar electrical power systems experience
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with complex technical issues
- Ability to create graphical representations and PowerPoints
- Ability to read and decipher technical electrical documentation (2D AutoCAD drawings, manuals, datasheets, cost estimations, reports, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills
- Willingness to travel 10% of the time
- Capable of performing verification shipchecks onboard MSC and Navy ships
