Role Description The Lead People Relations Consultant, Labor Relations is responsible for leading complex labor relations matters, managing labor relations strategy and execution, and providing high-level consultation to leaders on represented workforce matters and workplace issues with significant organizational impact. This role serves as a senior labor relations subject matter expert and people leader, with responsibility for guiding and developing team members, overseeing complex casework, and ensuring consistent, thoughtful, and high-quality labor relations support across the organization. - Partners closely with senior leaders, People Business Partners, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders. - Supports sound decision-making and effective labor-management relationships. - Ensures consistent application of collective bargaining agreements, policies, and workplace practices. - Serves as the escalation point for the Labor Relations team. - Leads the strategy, coordination, and execution of collective bargaining, meet and confer activity, grievance escalation, contract administration matters, and other complex labor relations issues. About the Position The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Alumni Network is looking for a part-time consultant to facilitate professional development activities and the mentorship program for the Network. This work is undertaken in concert with the members and leadership of the Alumni Support Working Group. Reporting to the DOE Alumni Network Community Lead, AnneMarie Horowitz, the Alumni Support Consultant will support professional development resources, events, and programs that align with the needs and interest of the members of the Network. This includes: 1) developing event ideas that best serve the community’s needs in conjunction with members; 2) coordinating with event volunteers the event agenda, logistics and details, developing content, and recruiting and prepping the highest quality speakers to ensure maximum excellent discussion and effective participant interaction; 3) marketing the events to the Network members to ensure maximum attendance; and 4) following up including metric tracking, SOP refinement, and collecting pictures, screenshots, recordings, and/or attendee testimonials for inclusion in future materials. - Maintaining and adding to a suite of resources for job seekers, with support from the Community Lead. - Contribution of content to the weekly newsletter that offers career support resources and updates on career development events.
