Software Engineer I – Metrics for Release Implementation
Torc Robotics
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of Python-based services and AWS data pipelines supporting metrics and validation workflows • Assist in processing and analyzing vehicle telemetry and validation data to generate meaningful safety metrics • Support implementation of release validation logic tied to automated testing and evaluation pipelines • Collaborate with systems, validation, and autonomy teams to support implementation of safety and performance metrics • Investigate pipeline failures, telemetry inconsistencies, and data quality issues using logs and large-scale datasets • Support workflow orchestration and automation systems used for validation and release readiness • Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members to deliver reliable, maintainable software solutions • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, tooling, and validation infrastructure
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field plus 0–4 years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree in a related technical field
- Strong programming experience in Python
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and AWS services such as S3, Lambda, ECS, or Step Functions
- Familiarity with data processing, backend systems, or large-scale datasets
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot systems using logs, telemetry, and data analysis
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of firmware for wireless access points, setting technical direction and ensuring adherence to best practices. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and product management, to define product requirements and develop long-term technology strategies. • Lead the resolution of complex technical challenges, including low-level debugging, performance optimization, and integration with advanced hardware components. • Drive the implementation and optimization of wireless networking protocols (e.g., 802.11 standards) and ensure robust security features, including encryption, authentication, and secure boot processes. • Identify and implement opportunities for innovation in firmware design, focusing on performance improvements, power efficiency, and scalability of wireless access point solutions. • Oversee the development and execution of rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure the highest levels of firmware quality and reliability. • Act as the primary technical liaison between the firmware team and other stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity and product quality.
