Role Description The Senior Client Relationship Executive is a strategic, revenue-driving role focused on managing and growing relationships with key clients and brokers. You’ll act as a trusted advisor—driving retention, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering a best-in-class client experience across Sun Life’s full suite of products and services. What You’ll Do - Own and grow strategic client relationships - Manage a portfolio of large, complex clients, including those with advanced benefit plans, absence management programs, and technology integrations (e.g., APIs, payroll feeds) - Build strong, trusted partnerships with clients and brokers to drive long-term growth and retention - Drive revenue and retention - Meet annual retention, growth, and cross-sell targets - Identify and execute opportunities to expand client engagement and product adoption - Lead client strategy and experience - Proactively assess client needs and deliver tailored solutions - Serve as the primary liaison across internal teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution - Lead renewal strategy and positioning in partnership with underwriting and sales - Collaborate across the business - Partner with internal teams (Client Advocates, Implementation, Benefits Education, Sales) to deliver seamless client experiences - Support finalist presentations and communicate Sun Life’s value proposition - Deliver proactive communication and insights - Conduct regular client outreach (meetings, calls, webinars) - Lead business reviews to assess performance, identify risks, and recommend solutions - Stay informed on market trends and advise clients accordingly - Operate with discipline and accountability - Manage client activity in Salesforce - Maintain a strategic business plan aligned to territory goals - Travel 50–60% within your assigned region Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in group employee benefits; including absence management; with dental highly preferred - Demonstrated experience managing large, complex client relationships (2,000-5,000+ lives) - Insurance license (or ability to obtain) - CLMS designation preferred - Bachelor’s degree preferred Requirements - Proven ability to build and manage executive-level client relationships - Strong communication, influence, and conflict resolution skills - Ability to lead with integrity, collaboration, and accountability - Experience growing revenue through cross-sell and retention strategies - Strong financial acumen and understanding of pricing, profitability, and risk - Strategic thinker with strong planning and problem-solving capabilities - Highly organized, self-directed, and results-oriented - Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment - Resilient and adaptable to change - Deep knowledge of group employee benefits and absence management - Understanding of market trends and competitive landscape Benefits - Comprehensive benefits, including generous vacation and sick time - Market-leading paid family, parental, and adoption leave - Medical coverage - Company paid life and AD&D insurance - Disability programs - Partially paid sabbatical program - 401(k) employer match - Stock purchase options - Employer-funded retirement account - Flexible, inclusive, and collaborative work environment that supports career growth
