Role Description Verdance is looking for an Engineering Lead to help drive success on ambitious government healthcare technology projects. You’ll join a mission-driven company partnering with government agencies to build secure, scalable, and user-centered digital public services. You’ll ultimately play a leadership role on a team of 10-20 engineers broken into several scrum teams, but we may ask you to have a stint as an individual contributor during a ramp-up period of several months. You’ll have significant influence over engineering standards, architecture decisions, and team culture. We’re especially looking for someone who is excited to help public sector teams adopt AI tooling in development workflows. Role Description In this fully remote Automation Engineer role, you will have the opportunity to join a long-standing healthcare organization, and the timing couldn’t be better! We are seeking a motivated Automation Engineer to join a rapid response build team. In this role, you will support the Senior Automation Engineer to build, test, and deploy automated workflows that remove manual drudgery for operations teams. You will be the primary builder for tactical automations, taking approved process designs and turning them into reliable, running bots using Power Automate and lightweight AI solutions. Key Responsibilities - Bot Development: Develop, configure, and test automation flows using Microsoft Power Automate based on technical specifications provided by the Senior Lead. - AI Tool Utilization: Implement simple AI solutions using tools like Gemini to handle text processing tasks. Replace traditional regex or string manipulation with AI prompts to clean data from Enrollment forms or Provider communications. - Process Identification: Act as a scout for automation opportunities. Listen to business users in Enrollment, Clinical, and Provider teams describe their daily pain points and flag tasks that are highly repetitive, rule-based, and high-volume. - Maintenance and Support: Monitor the daily health of active bots.
