Role Description We're looking for a Strategy Fellow to help us turn our platform's differentiation into a sharp, investment-grade drug target portfolio. You'll work directly with our CEO on a highly strategically important project: the curated drug target list and accompanying Target Product Profiles (TPPs) that anchor our Seed strategy. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role: your work will directly shape our first therapeutic programs. It is a rare opportunity to combine deep scientific reasoning and commercial judgement in an entrepreneurial context. You will gain broad exposure to different disease areas, think critically about how a new modality can solve medical challenges and improve care for patients, and sharpen your scientific, commercial, and strategic instincts. - Critically review our differentiation thesis and target discovery framework - Run our AI-augmented target discovery workflow at scale across a candidate target universe - Map indication expansion logic and commercial upside for top targets (break-in indication → expansion path → licensing-readiness inflection points) - Build the competitive landscape view for top targets — clinical pipeline, mechanism overlap, white space - Document your process and findings in sharp written deliverables and presentation materials - Prepare materials for strategic discussions and external stakeholders Qualifications - PhD in life sciences with an interest in the intersection of medical and commercial questions and entrepreneurship - MD with strong scientific fluency - Pharma or biotech operator with experience in indication strategy, portfolio strategy, translational development, or commercial assessment - Other backgrounds that combine strong biomedical judgment with strategic and commercial instincts Requirements - Fluency with primary scientific literature: you can read clinical and biomedical research papers and form your own view - Commercial instincts: you think in terms of unmet need, competitive landscape, and commercial attractiveness - Strong writing: your drafts should land on a partner's desk and read like a memo, not an academic literature review - Self-direction: you'll work with autonomy on challenging medical and commercial questions - Confidentiality: you'll be handling sensitive strategy material and are comfortable treating it as such Logistics - Duration: 3 months full-time. Extensions possible depending on project need on a case by case basis. - Start: ASAP, likely summer 2026 - Compensation: Pro rata on a £50-70k pa basis depending on experience; higher for exceptional candidates - Location: In person from our London office or remote - Reports to: CEO Notice to recruitment agencies SynX Therapeutics does not accept unsolicited CVs from third parties.
