Location: Yuma United States Job Description: PT - Video Content Assistant Salary: $15.15 - 15.15 Summary of Function: The Video Content Assistant supports the Marketing and Communications team at Arizona Western College by assisting the full-time Videographer in capturing, editing, and distributing video content that promotes the college's programs, people, and mission. This part-time position is primarily video-focused and works under the direct supervision of the Director of Content Strategy and Development, with day-to-day guidance from the full-time Videographer. As assigned, the role may also provide limited support for broader content creation efforts and college events. Typical Duties: - Serves Students. Assist the full-time Videographer in filming video content that highlights the college's academic programs, student life, faculty, staff, and institutional events. Approach all work with a focus on representing the college's mission, vision, and values. - Operate cameras, lighting equipment, and audio devices under the direction of the full-time Videographer to capture professional-quality footage. Apply fundamentals of framing, composition, and lighting as directed. - Assist with video editing and post-production tasks, including assembling footage, basic color correction, audio adjustments, text overlays, captions, and graphics using department-approved software. - Assist with planning and logistics for video shoots, including scheduling support, equipment setup and breakdown, location preparation, and prop or set coordination as directed by the Videographer. - Help ensure all video content meets the college's branding, accessibility, and quality standards. Support asset management, including file organization, labeling, and archiving within department systems. - Track assigned tasks and project status using the department's project management system. Communicate progress and flag any issues to the Videographer or Director of Content Strategy and Development in a timely manner. - Provide support for other content creation and college event coverage as assigned. This may include assisting with photography, social media content capture, or on-site event support, and is secondary to the primary video focus of this role. - Supports and participates in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a film, video, media, communications, or related program, OR - High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of hands-on experience in video filming, editing, or related media work, OR - An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the position and essential functions have been achieved may be considered - Applicants may indicate any additional language proficiencies in their application materials, including English/Spanish, as relevant to the position Additional Eligibility Requirements: - Arizona Driver's License or Equivalent Classification: - Non-Exempt Position Type & Work Schedule: - Part-time, 12-month position - Up to 19 hours per week - Schedule determined based on department and production needs - Work flexible schedule to meet the program, department, and/or institutional needs, which may include Fridays, nights, and/or weekends Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Knowledge of and ability to interpret, apply, and follow college policies and procedures - Knowledge of or ability to maintain organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures - Skill in current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications, Windows, college system platforms, software, and applications especially those specific to the department operations - Skill in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent) - Skill in camera operation, basic lighting setup, and audio capture techniques - Skill and ability to be self-directed and to manage one's own time - Ability to complete all departmental and/or institutional mandatory training or development - Ability to organize, prioritize, follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion, with close attention to detail - Ability to work independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment - Ability to provide assistance in a professional and supportive manner - Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, in writing, and in a public setting, and to relate to others in a professional manner - Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected information and follow FERPA and privacy guidelines - Ability to operate relevant equipment required to complete assigned responsibilities for the position - Ability to adapt and maintain professional composure in emergent situations - Ability to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and civility in all job-related actions - Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate actions to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes - Ability to understand cinematography, lighting composition, and visual storytelling principles - Ability to make appropriate aesthetic decisions consistent with the College's brand, under guidance - Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective, and collaborative relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, students, and the public Work Environment: - Inside office environment with normal noise and lighting levels - Work is performed in an open office environment with staff, students, community contacts, and interruptions - Working environment may include various locations across the service district, with varying noise levels, indoor and/or outdoor locations as needed to support program, department, or institutional needs Physical Demands: - Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer - Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking - May lift, carry, push, and/or pull, at times, a minimum of 10 pounds - Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or twist - Safely and appropriately operate golf carts or district vehicles - Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises Travel: - May be required to travel to other locations using various modes of private, commercial, or fleet transportation, and as needed to support program, department, and institutional needs Note: - Location: Yuma Campus - Not Benefits Eligible - The statements within this document describe the general nature, level, and type of work performed by the individual(s) assigned to this classification and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, demands, and skills required of personnel so classified - The institution and its designated representatives reserve the right to add, delete, or modify any and/or all provisions of this description at any time as needed without notice
