Midstream Project Engineer

• This position provides engineering support for the design, construction, and modification of crude and refined product pipelines and terminal facilities. • Execute projects under direction of senior engineers to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations. • Apply applicable ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195, NFPA 30, API standards, and company specific standards to new and existing facilities. • Develop scopes of work, estimates, schedules, and engineering deliverables for assigned projects. • Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and equipment specifications. • Support instrumentation, controls, SCADA, and leak detection system design. • Support project budgeting, cost tracking, and schedule execution. • Support projects from concept through design, construction, commissioning, and turnover. • Coordinate and support EPC contractors and vendors. • Participate in PHA, MOC, PSSR, and incident investigations. • Perform field investigations and troubleshoot pipeline and terminal operational issues. • Assist with stress analysis, hydraulic review, and equipment evaluations.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of experience in pipeline, terminal, or related midstream facilities.
  • Working knowledge of pipeline systems, petroleum transfer operations, and process control.
  • Strong engineering, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Preferred Experience: Pipeline or petrochemical industry experience; familiarity with engineering software (such as PipelineStudio).
  • Ability to manage a project is essential.
  • Working knowledge of commonly used engineering concepts and ability to apply this knowledge analytically.
  • Ability to stay abreast of new technology developments and processes is essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, strong verbal communication skills, advanced level of reading and writing, ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations.
  • Advanced ability to work effectively with multiple groups throughout the refinery.
  • Strong spreadsheet and word processing applications knowledge; strong interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills; ability to provide training to multiple groups on a variety of applicable assigned discipline topics.
  • Knowledge of various process hazard analysis and root cause analysis methodologies is required for Process Safety Engineering discipline.
