Job Description
Sr Product Owner
RecargaPay
Role Description We are looking for a Senior/Specialist Product Manager to lead the Anti-Fraud Squad. You will be the owner of the defense of our ecosystem, acting as a technical counterpart to the Engineering and Data Science teams. Your main challenge will be to evolve our security infrastructure (Chargeback Prevention, PIX Fraud, Account Takeover), balancing strong business protection with an excellent user experience. More than managing a backlog, we are looking for someone who can dive deep into data to uncover patterns and lead the structuring of new Machine Learning and AI models. - Strategy & Discovery: Define the roadmap for fraud prevention products, proactively identifying new threats and optimization opportunities in risk engines. - Data-Driven Decision Making: Get hands-on with data. You will have autonomy to run your own SQL queries to validate hypotheses, extract performance reports, and justify project prioritization based on financial and operational data. - ML/AI Lifecycle Management: Actively participate in the design and evolution of Machine Learning models, translating complex business rules into clear requirements for Data Science and Engineering teams. - Delivery & Backlog Management: Turn strategy into clear, technical User Stories, manage a prioritized backlog, and ensure continuous value delivery with the development team. - Performance & KPIs: Closely monitor success metrics (Fraud Rate, Approval Rate, False Positives, Chargeback) and report the impact of initiatives to leadership. Qualifications - Senior Experience as PM/PO - Proven track record managing digital products with high transaction volumes. - Hands-on Analytical Profile - Solid SQL knowledge to independently run queries, join datasets, and perform analyses (no need to be a DBA, but autonomy is required). - Payments / Fraud Background - Previous experience with payment methods (Acquiring, Issuers, Schemes) and/or fraud prevention tools. - Business Acumen - Ability to balance financial risk (losses) with user friction (conversion). - Communication Skills - Ability to communicate technically with developers and data scientists, and strategically with business stakeholders. Requirements - Machine Learning / AI Experience - Experience in projects involving the development or retraining of predictive models. - Statistical Knowledge - For deeper behavioral analysis and modeling. - Languages - English and/or Spanish (technical reading and international benchmarks). Benefits - Competitive and market-aligned salary. - Remote work — wherever you are, you’re part of the team! - Home office allowance through a monthly deposit in the RecargaPay app. - Health and dental plans with no co-pay. - Life insurance. - Flexible meal allowance (via Flash). - TotalPass membership to take care of your health. - Spanish or Portuguese classes.

• Translate the VP’s strategy into a sequenced backlog of problems, user stories, and acceptance criteria that the Engineering team can deliver continuously. • Keep work “thin-sliced” so the team can ship frequently, learn quickly, and reduce risk through iteration. • Maintain a disciplined cadence of backlog refinement, sprint readiness, and scope negotiation to keep delivery predictable without slowing innovation. • Leverage your hands-on DevOps experience and expertise in the real-world workflows of the professionals you’re building for - especially cloud operators and practitioners. • Use firsthand domain knowledge and ongoing customer conversations to identify friction, gaps, and opportunities for differentiation. • Prioritize enhancements that materially improve outcomes: speed, reliability, clarity, safety, governance, cost impact, or operational simplicity. • Often speak with customers (aiming for 3-5 calls a week) and cross-functional DoiT stakeholders regularly to test ideas, validate assumptions, and pressure-test tradeoffs. • Communicate clearly and confidently: share concepts early, take feedback openly, synthesize input into decisions, and explain 'why' in a way that builds trust. • Rely on your hands-on, DevOps experience to go deep with stakeholders (internal/external) into the technical details of the problem, our solution, and the contexts and environments in which both of these exist. • Support beta/design-partner motions where appropriate by shaping hypotheses, success criteria, and rollout plans. • Operate as a core member of the component’s Engineering team - present in daily collaboration, crisp in decision-making, and pragmatic about constraints. • Partner with Engineering leads on sequencing, technical tradeoffs, and delivery planning - ensuring product intent survives implementation realities. • Ensure the component is cohesive across UX, APIs, data, and operational behavior - and that it meets a high bar for reliability and customer trust. • Define what 'success' means for the component with clear metrics (adoption, activation, workflow completion, time-to-value, retention, reliability signals, customer-reported impact). • Instrument learning: make sure releases are measurable and that insights reliably flow back into prioritization. • Own release readiness for your component: documentation, enablement inputs, and clear communication of what’s new and why it matters. • Ensure product requirements account for real-world cloud environments: IAM boundaries, auditability, guardrails, and safe defaults. • Partner with security, support, and customer teams to anticipate edge cases and ensure the component earns trust over time.
